Today is set as an historic date in Jamaica with the two major political parties which have been in existence from the days of West Indian Federation, they will battle today for the Jamaican votes.
The incumbent JLP led by Dr. Andrew Holness has been credited with the drastic reduction of crime and violence in Jamaica, and also economic growth. While their challenger the PNP led by Mark Golding, Jamaican born of British parentage, which led to some controversy of him not holding a Jamaican passport until later in his life, however, the PNP supporters are excited and motivated, with the expectation to win the election, based on recent polls, showing the PNP with a narrow lead over the JLP.
So, the Jamaican Election Machinery is up and running, now it’s all up to the voters.
