And her very last run "dus' out" the world champs! As Tina said this is the very 1st time Tia had to handle the baton twice. Man what an anchor leg by Jonelle! No o e runs down. Shacarri. but man had she gotten the baton 4/1000th of a second earlier it would be Shacarri being unable to run her down.4×4 women very good with potential for more

I am in agreement with you on the third handover. I said the same thing straight away.

Canada should put up a statue of Andre DeGrasse.

Great meet but sadly my misgivings about the relays came to pass. Won an easy bet re Botswana's win. 3 finalists plus Tebogo. (The Commie- "and for thev1st time ever An African Nation has won the 4x4....they rose like gods!) just brilliant. Who catches Shacarri? But if Jonelle got the baton 0.004 secs earlier it would be Shacarri not catching The Wolmerian. As Tina said, Tia's baton handling will improve.
Class, poise, charm, talent were the hallmarks of Caribbean Queens Julie, LaFonde, Sherica, Shelly the twins and others.

Thanks for the wonderful info. I was not able to watch this World Champs and only saw
the events of the penultimate day.
Overall I was very encouraged by the Jamaicans although there were as expected unfavorable
outcomes.
Tina Clayton's 100m medal and her relay run were special and she looks like the future will
be good to carry on the legacy of women sprinting. Good to see Shericka with a medal after
injuries. It is not easy to return to International competition after such setbacks and medal . Nothing more
can be said about Shelly Ann, except that were I PM of that Little Rock she would be named
National Hero. The women as they have done in recent times have carried the Country's Name
and reputation very well and but for a flubbed 3rd pass could well have earned the 4x100 Gold but
it is not easy passing a wet baton.
I was very encouraged with the men's quarter milers although they went medal less. But it was nice to see
them getting into the Final and McDonald has done himself good. I was also pleased with the 800m man
Navasky . When last has Jamaican reach the final of an 800 final at International Level ?
i won't be surprised if he medals at Olympics as his trajectory of progress is pointing that way.
The major disappointment was the 4x100m and Thompson's inexperience in such event as anchor was
responsible but understandable so I expect he will atone as he has the speed to make redemption.
Of course Levell and Oblique were stars and long may they keep well as .
I felt for Julien Alfred as she obviously was hurt but what a gamer ? Wish her the best for the
Olympics as she is pure class. Also missed not seeing by favorite 400m man Kirani not making the final.
He has been a hero for Grenada and I wish him well. The Trini-Grenada 1-2 punch in the Javelin gladdened the heart
and was a major highlight for me as that is one event Jamaicans have never really gravitated to along with the hammer.
Maybe in time this will change.
Finally, I think the local fraternity from top to bottom, rather than engaging with the International body on Athletes'
switching loyalty should engage athletes and be more helpful to them with assistance from the government and the
JOA and others to avoid such ,even as this is an individual's Right to . Athletes have done so much for the national cause and
deserve much better support in many areas. It should be done, it Must be done.

The eye-catching performance was impoverished Botswana population two million beating richest nation on the planet USA population 350 million on the line in men's 4x400.

What a race!

Lots more to come from Botswana, seems talent abounds there.Although the 2 high testosterone level women seem to have decided to leave the sport rather than accede to taking hormone-altering drug/changing event I hope they have inspired girls. Imagine a 2M pop country got 3 men into the toughest sprint final! Shades of '50's yard with Rhoden, McKinley, Wint.. Van Niekerk may be right, the 4x4 record will be broken by an African nation.
