For this to be competitive, India needs to play a B team

Brathwaite had his 100 test run...... unfortunately, he failed to raise the bar...like many west Indies players...
Tage...started well in Australia....scored double vs Zimbabwe.....but thereon failed...this season he started scratching....then got injured..... what got Tage selected.....

Maybe after famous 27.....CWI called upon all greats to recommend redemption....Clive Lloyd,Viv,Lara,Shiv...l assume Shiv remedy...."Select Tage for Redemption"....Sammy & CWI just checking Shiv's remedy...lol

motie is a far better cricketer than warrican or pierre not just bowler and it is a shame that his form has tailed off to the extent he is no longer a automatic selection in tests

Could understand DaSilva and probably Jangoo.

But what exactly did Carty do to make the squad? Last I checked his FC average is in the 20s. If someone can't buy runs in our crappy FC system how they scoring at the test level.

Most of us mixing up limited overs with test cricket.

How is Floyd Reifer still the batting assistant?
This is mindboggling indeed...... for all the resources we have [access to] in the Caribbean, FR is still there..... Courtney Walsh can do the same job and then some on the bowling side...... SMH.

I'm not scared to ask, is DaSilva the victim if racism? Is Sammy uncomfortable with A Jew standing uo to his authority? We saw animated discussion on field with White Jamaican Nash and he played only 1 more test thereafter.

27 is not the sole selector

Shallow and Bascombe will tell you that there is a panel of selectors and 27 is one of them. 27 does have the deciding vote.

27 is also the head coach of the T20 team, the ODI team, and the Test team.

Shallow in his interview said they have moved away from other people deciding the team and giving that authority to the coach who is closest to knowing what sort of brand the team wants to play.

While cosmetically, selection appears to be a democratic process, the reality is that 27 controls everything and is the final arbiter.

Take that how you will.

Come on what is the fascination with 27, did the WI got bowled out for 47 or 49 before?

there was a general agreement that those lineups were very good, with at least one batsman in the GOAT category. the 27 posse was dismissed by the same delivery. technically they were totally violated over and over again. And harmison and co would go on again to dominate the ashes against the #1 side the next year. this australia attack conceded their highest d/n total against a west indian side....not two years ago or four....last year. if from 325 to 27 aint alarming, i doh know what is

were you on the team that got bowled out for 47 or 49?

A great team got bowled out for 49, a weak team got bowled out for 27, you would expect a weak team to get bowled out for a very low score, but a great team with the GOAT,

Why do we give so much responsibility to someone who was never a Test Great?

For sure he should not be the Head Coach of the test team.

Well, most great coaches weren't great at the sport they did, most were role players. We can argue if he fits the mould.
