Serpentine Road drama
QRC draw 2-2 with St Mary’s; Naparima dominant down South
There was late drama on Serpentine Road as St Mary’s College snatched a stoppage-time equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw against traditional rivals Queen’s Royal College as first round action in the new Secondary Schools Football League Boys Premier Division season kicked off yesterday.
Down south, the new Angus Eve era at Naparima College began in emphatic fashion, with Aaron Raymond netting a hat-trick (6th, 22nd, 67th) as “Naps” dismantled Trinity College East 7-0 at Lewis Street, San Fernando. From the opening whistle there was little doubt about the outcome, with the hosts cruising to a three-goal lead before half-time. Jabari Rodriguez (36th), Jaydon Caprietta, Jerrel Cooper (58th) and Malik Charles (80th) completed the rout.
Elsewhere, Trinity College, Moka, also made a statement with a 4-1 victory over fellow newcomers Carapichaima East Secondary. Jediah David stole the show with a hat-trick (25th, 48th, 67th).
