Keacy Carty has regressed

Since the tour of the UK…..where we thought we had found our #3…..and he looked so good almost every time he came to the crease….,,Keacy has regressed pretty significantly.

Immediately after the UK tour of Ireland and England, he got deservedly selected to the test team…..didn’t perform there and frankly didn’t look like he belonged and was dropped.

He hasn’t looked good in CPL either. He failed today.

To be fair to him, we haven’t played any ODI’s since that UK tour. Hopefully in the near future, he’ll be able to perform in formats other than ODI’s for West Indies. Right now, it’s not looking good.

Full transparency……I haven’t seen a ball in this Nepal match. I’m just going by the scorecard.

You realize that he had 7 dot balls in 15 balls.
1 six and 1 four. and six singles.
He looked poor.

Bowling was not that good either.
He poked balls back to bowler.

Send his ass home now.

Carty looked good, but he is not a natural T20 batter, they have to be better at taking quick singles, Nepal has good fielders.

My question would be…..to bring in whom?

Again….i didn’t see any of the match so can only go by scorecard.

We lost which is disappointing. No matter how it can be claimed it’s developmental etc.

How was Hosein’s captaincy? Did he struggle?

How was the team in the field?

I see Jangoo kept wicket. Never seen him keep. How did he look behind the stumps?

Was it a case that the Nepalese bowlers were superior? I see you comment that the bowling wasn’t that good. So all of our batsmen essentially were mediocre?

Did any “look good”?

Keacy Carty had a decent start to his ODI career. A format where the ball does very little and you got enough time to get yourself in and build an inning.

He did nothing to be in any T20 or test squad. But in the WI people believe in miracles... they think if someone performs in one format it will be the same for the others.

What did Jyd Goolie do to get drop from the squad? Why they didn't consider Kofi James? Arguably the standout player from the emerging league. Even the bajan cowlasher Alleyne.

On YouTube so watch later

Windies need to play horses for courses.

Carty don't look like a T20 player, yet alone a T20I player.

Even the non west indian commentators were suprised at how stupid the thinking of the wi .of wanting a left and right combination i throughout their innings instead of choosing the best batsman to come in.either allen or holder should have come in before bidasie to give the innings a boosts. Carty is not a t20 player

Too many pokers upfront in this squad.

Nepal's fielding was electric

WI fielding mediocre, Carty being no exception.

I disagree.
The notion that scoring runs in ODI cricket can be factored into test selection has not been shown by anyone anywhere. The people who are successful test batsmen are successful first class batsmen.
