VOR, what skill set is being displayed when you cant get runs on the board. I am speaking specifically about Athanaze. Josh comfortably out batted him in the regional FC and will also do so in the Super 50. Athanaze, I am sad to say, continuously eats a food off one good FC season and one Super50 in which he started with 2 centuries and then bun! He was the top scorer in an U19 series and then all his contemporaries have motored past him. I am not saying this to put down the man who I hope will come good for his sake, his country's sake and his region's sake but just to face facts. The man has no production at the international or even regional level. Silva deserved his drop in Pakistan but in reality he was no worse than the Tage, Athanaze, Louis, Hodge etc of this world and at least he has the satisfaction of substantially winning us 2 tests with his batting

If you don't use stats to pick a team, what do you use???

A man calling people ignorant, when his Revo declare selectors redundant and replaced with scouts that report directly to the Chief and Only Selecta. Now we hearing there is a ghost body somewhere.

Unwise, or dumb? A talent scout/manager here identifies and may even recommend. A sole selector decides and those decisions can even mean ignoring those submissions and recommendations.

Anyone scouted into the West Indies team yet? What load of fkry!
What are they scouting for? The first class setup? CPL teams?
Do they watch local league cricket? All regional cricket is broadcasted via youtube or commercial tv. The stats are available at the click of a mouse.

Scouting makes sense for regional boards to identify local talent and fast-track them into national setups and potentially the West Indies team.
That has nothing to do with squad selection for tours.
