When Virat Kholi was early in his career and bullying every bowler who crossed his path in India and Asia, I reserved judgement on referring to him as world class until he dominated in foreign conditions. Then he did. Without hesitation I acknowledged that he was one of the all time greats of the game.

All this to say, that Sampson needs a more thorough examination.
