Glad Gavaskar mentioned King's

Front pad is not in line with the ball. Many of his and Hope's pretty pose cover drives see the back foot closer to the line of the ball than the front. Coaches can't see that? Players themselves can't look at Viv and Prince forward and across on YouTube? Mentioned that technique deficiency here many times.

I don’t think ashwell prince had a particularly great front foot game. He was a gritty defensive batsman who did well for South Africa and shored up the middle order, but to mention him in the same breath as Vic is preposterous

Front pad is not in line with the ball

A function of white ball cricket

Peiterson from England though didn't believe much in feet to the line of the ball but rather the head

King's game went terribly south when he decided to pursue (can't blame him) "fast-food cricket". His technical deficiencies were not addressed.

The coach (and his lackeys here) bragged that he could bring the T20 stars into the Test team, enter King and Hope, but no exit of their deficiencies. The players lack the resolve to address their weaknesses and the coach is wholly incompetent.

No one in WI cricket moves their feet to the ball. They just makes a half step towards the ball and that's it. That is why they get caught in the crease.
If they look at Viv's footwork. They would see him leg stump line and then that "back foot " COMES all the way across the front stump. That way he can "go back or forward".
Same style with Amla.
WHAT ABOUT the player individually? What are they doing to develop "technique?
Looks like nothing. Like they just think they can "wing it" or depend on WASTE INDIES BOARD to send them to camp.
Chanderpaul came to Orlando every time in between series and got the local pelters to pelt to him from 3/4 pitch.
That is how he developed his "resiliency".
You cannot blame the coaches on tour. They are there just to talk "tactics" and game plan.
It is you wearing that cap must have some pride in yourself and INVEST in yourself.
Then again the WI picks a team based on their available funds after paying all their waste at the top.

The coach is talking tactics and game plan with the players he himself selected.

daSilva and Imlach would argue that it is some other criteria.

@Brerzerk

De current batting coach used to bat with his knees bent with his head virtually on top of his shoulder. He probably sees nothing wrong with what King and Hope are doing

THat was an easy paced red soil wicket atleast for first 3 days. Not sure how WI managed to collapse on that wicket. No decisive movements. Test requires sequence of decisive movements for long period. They have to master the art of batting time.
