6 day camp helped to add a day to the test

The West Indies team will hold a six-day camp in Ahmedabad ahead of the two-Test series against India. According to information shared with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) by Cricket West Indies (CWI), the visitors will train in Ahmedabad from September 24 to 29, before beginning their final preparations for the opening Test. The first Test is scheduled to start on October 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Test would have been less than 2 dayssmile
What did they do at the camp anyway...just bonding?

Most of these guys haven't played first class cricket in 2-3 months, some even longer. Why not a 2-3 day tour match and four days of camp? We seriously have to rethink our cricket.

This was a good batting surface. Not sure why they folded meekly. Some other touring side would have done better on the same pitch.

If CWI knows the test team will be different from the CPL teams of which that tournament was the only one on the cards. Then why not bring them into Barbados for a month?
It is not like out test team players are busy?
Only one or two but most times they are "idle" and not even known to the selectors it looks like .
Harps that top 6 is an embarrassment. Warrican is in that "heap".
It is amazing they made 109.
CWI needs dismantling and each territory renominate a a business executive who played cricket ala Stollmeyer, Gomez, Camacho etc and not these guys with a sports degree if so who knows nothing about "culture", winning and "guts".
Icc should be petitioned to help appoint a hard nosed team of coaches to restart our cricket. A coach for each territory overseeing each national squad and being very harsh on any one not up to par. Drop their ass if they are lazy, refuse to listen and slack at assignments.
Something drastic. Something foreign like WI team of Lloyd's and Richards.
OR
We get corporate WI involved. Sponsor the kids/squad for a season in England. Does not matter if it is 1-3 RD division. It is the "exposure" to challenging conditions and exposure to different coaching techniques.
A panel will look at the progress and report to the new coaches and they go from there.
I give us 2 years to start lasting 4 days at least and getting results.
This is the only forum I know to voice my opinion.
