...cricketer that she is, in such a shitty system?

Barbados is the best run cricket administration in regional cricket…followed by Guyana and T&T

@FanAttick

Follow up question assuming your premise above is correct:

How come this system hasn't churned out more world class female players and what about male players?

Good question..unfortunately CWI creates a hostile environment that inhibits talent development…I guarantee you that if the better run regional admins were unfettered by CWI and were able to chart their own course you would see more world class talent coming to the fore

@FanAttick

How come this "hostile environment" did not hinder Haley Matthews?

@FanAttick

Hayley's dad is responsible for her development, not the BCA.
The same can be said for Jacob Bethell; he was placed into an academy at a young age, and his love for the game brought him to England.
Hayley and Jacob's parents invested time and money in their success.

How comes one sperm survived the hostile environment and fertilized the egg? What happened to the other trillions?

When one premises a response on the characteristics of what is a natural phenomenon and it did not engage his thought process for one nanosecond that this phenomenon can be automatically applied to the other cricketing nations, then it shows you are thinking with your bottom and making an ass of yourself.

Cream floats to the top.

That’s all. Pele and Maradonna rose from the dirt

Some players will succeed IN SPITE of the system. Similar high-potential players will fall away because they don’t have either the drive, or family support, or other means to self-develop.

DESIRE is a helluva motivator

@Halliwell

Absolutely...and there should be plenty of motivation because there are so many vacancies on both the men and women's team.

But is the product and is the treatment you think you will receive, attractive?

We continue to furnish the international T20 franchises with players…

Seems to me it’s a red ball thing, and also the boys and girls really ent have belly for white ball more than 35 overs…

On a side note, I expect Ackeem Auguste to succeed as a cricketer because he is highly motivated and his parents have invested heavily in his cricket development since he was the age where he could pick up a mini-bat.
