One take from Lara interview,

In effect he intimated that we should not discard players who don't meet the grade to play international cricket, early in their careers. He mentioned Graham Gooch, Adam Gilchrist and Mike Hussey as examples of guys who matured in their 30a and were very successful.

Now, given the issues plaguing WI cricket we don't have the luxury of discarding/giving up on players pass a 'young' age. The problems are deep rooted and we must adapt to our unique situation.

I will add my bit by saying, we need to return to prioritizing domestic red ball cricket thereby harnessing the skills not only for that form but will greatly assist with the white ball as well
