Which Bowler was lethal and got wickets all over

Fri, Oct 10, '25 at 6:47 PM

The Cricket World.

This is not a trick question.

I have heard it said about Batsmen...they dont make runs in this place or the next but were considered World beaters...

So...

IN the History of Cricket..TEST Cricket...Did Lillee, Thompson, Our own Walsh, Holding, Ambrose pick up wickets on every surface?

I am genuinely asking for a discussion or at least some sharing of knowledge from the older heads here... or expert researchers

To this very day, I rate Holding's Headingly performance as one of the best ever display of fast bowling in cricket history.

I will let the experts provide a more in-depth response to your question.

@powen001

I am no expert but from what I have seen I believe it helps to be quick and be able to swing the ball through the air therefore taking the pitch out of the equation or consistent line and length with seam or quick lethal bouncers. Also if you could reverse swing the old ball that makes you menacing throughout the innings.

Bowlers : Wasim Akram, Malcolm Marshall, Michael Holding, Curtley Ambrose, Glenn Mcgrath, Dale Steyn were all great proponents of the above and therefore lethal everywhere they bowled.
