Is Jayden Seales
This was a good batting wicket. Delhi wicket is generally low bounce wicket. Bouncers are useless here. He went for pole hunting for a while. Best ball to INdians is just wide outside the off. You have to keep testing their patience.
Unfortunately everybody wants to kick west indies because they are down from gavaskar to boycott .who is urging the icc to drop wi from test cricket. Seales is a good bowler who is still learning his craft .phillips i dont know why his pace is down from the last test match
@InHindsight
Jayden Seales success was never due to brute force, intimidation that is not his kind of bowling. Again we lost Aljo and Shamar and those were two huge blows.
@voiceofreason
For some further context
Neither Siraj nor the Indian superstar Bhumrah has taken a wicket thus far, of this weak WI batting.
So it it a matter of everybody, including West Indians fans, kicking WI while we're down?
Gavaskar join the fray.
That's why I am not flattered when he offers token gestures and praise for our past greats
With reference to West Indian cricketers,
the current era it all about money, with the exception of a few. Definitely they should secure their livelihoods and be rewarded for their great skill, but how is played the West Indian identity.
I reflect on Pollard and him taunting regional crowds and not expecting to receive in kind. Utter nonsense him saying us not appreciating past players. Is he in his right mind?
Hats off to young Jayden Seales. I wish you make millions upon millions
@InHindsight
Each commentator has their own style. 76 year old man Gavaskar gets annoyed by certain things.
Not taking run in straight line
Not sliding the bat while touching the crease,
Lack of game awareness is one thing he gets annoyed at
playing rubbish shots when opponent is down out ( called Pant stupid, stupid stupid after playing a dumb shot and caused a test loss which was heading towards a certain draw),
In the Asia cup final with require rate of 7 Indian top order played glory shots and perished. India was 20/3. He was furious
These are just samples. He is quirky about so many things.
He is not reserving criticism exclusively for West Indians. He critcizes everyone.
@jnaveen
That is his role as an analyst
AS to what we hear from regional commentators, who coach after every delivery
@openning
I gather that you're saying to lambast the player/team is to provide analysis. There is such a thing as constructive criticism.
Ian Bishop is legendary. And I mean with mic in hand. Undoubtedly one of the best commentators/ analyst the game has seen. Have you ever heard him denigrate any player, even when you do absolute foolishness? Never.
He uses a different approach. He is well researched for each assignment. He identifies the issues without disparaging. Instead he affirms the players.
I give him much credit for the seeming resurgence of Alzarri Joseph. Many times before the Aussie tour I recall him affirmation of Joseph, and saying we hadn't seen the best of him as yet. He would improve. This, I think served as the catalyst to the Joseph we've been seeing of late.
I don't discount Gavaskar's knowledge, but his motives. Simple
@InHindsight
Why the hell would anyone try to bowl a bouncer on that flat track? When the Indians begin to prepare proper test pitches then they will get good cricket. Seales did well as far as I am concerned.
@InHindsight
Seales is in the top 5 ratings for fast bowlers in Test cricket at present.
