@voiceofreason

Well, there is nothing like live action, playing against bowlers that the batters are unfamiliar with. Obviously, not playing warm-up matches is affecting the team, the WI to Nepal had the same experience, it was at the end of the tour when the batters started to make some runs

@Walco

Dasillva should have been selected, after being drop and losing the VC role, he scored three tons at last year's 4-day regional championship, one which Louis, in his year, saw him selected.

What is Sammy looking for, and what has Josh done?

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 9:26 AM

@openning

I have no problem with that if you are saying that he should have been picked as a batsman. Who would you have dropped and selected DaSilva instead?

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 9:31 AM

Athanaze or any of the youngsters averaging in the twenties.

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 9:34 AM

@openning

You want to drop the whole team then 😂 DaSilva's average is also in the 20s by the way.

There lies the problem

@openning

It makes no difference if Tarnish had played

he is just like the rest

he can’t bat

gets too squared on

whilst he may survive this short coming at our 1st class level not in test cricket

see King and the rest of the jokers

but saying that he should have been picked and played to disabuse you all of the notion that he can make runs consistently at this level

sudden

Meikyl Louis was selected after scoring three centuries in his first year, and Dasilva finished last regional with the second-highest runs and three tons.

Tevin Imlach should be the wicket keeper; he is averaging 35.84 with six tons to his credit.

@openning

fair enough but is Louis still playing

i really don’t understand your point here

isnt Imlach playing?

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 10:39 AM

@sudden

I've only in the last couple of hours saw Imlack's average

At 28 years old, he has been scoring runs for Guyana and being overlooked.

What are the selectors looking for?

Why select performing youngsters and then drop them after a series? How can any coach build a unit?

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 10:50 AM

@openning

They had selected Tarnish so how could Imlach play?

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 11:12 AM

@dayne

very good point although the stats speak volumes and no teams play the warm up matches like they did back then.

@Walco

You are echoing my sentiments about Lara and Viv helping Campbell. Our legends have not help us for decades.

Is Ravi still the bowling coach

Sun, Oct 12, '25 at 11:50 AM

@openning

@sudden

Imlach has made 6 tons in 7 years 3 of them this year, avg 35.84

Thereis a kid from Bim who has 3 tons in 2 years and still did not get an A team pick,selection is not always fair.

@imusic

You know I watched the clip of him (the batting coach) when we were being dismantled in the 1st innings

And I'm like we changed head coach, bowling coach think even a new physio and the batting coach stays

Now mind you we bowling has been coming on then came Ravi and y0ou see the improvement

The batting has been we struggle but yet we no touch the batting coach.
