@Onionman0
Bruh there is what we call 'due process' . He may well be brought into the XI in this game or it could be Auguste, also a good player of spin.
Carty, like me you're expecting should be the one replaced. But stop with the myopism and insularity - you can smell it from a mile away.
The conundrum for any team admin with a a failing team is to swap players on a fly. Carty until recently had been one of the top performers in the ODI team. Complicated the matter may be but he deserved time to see if his form can turn around.
I can see that your interest is notvinthr overall development in WI cricket but to see your hommies play at all cost.
@InHindsight
After England ODI series....Carty form suddenly went south....
Vs Pakistan... against spin...failed
Vs Bangladesh 9 runs.. 30 balls
He has problem against spin..
Rutherford also struggling in last few series...
Pitch surely spinning first ball...
Seales was very expensive...6 overs 46 runs..... although he took 2 wickets very late....by then Bangladesh already above 200....
Motie was also very very poor...44/0...
It's very unlikely but I would do some drastic changes
Auguste
King
Jangoo
Athanaze
Hope
Rutherford
Chase
Greaves
Motie
Pierre
Shamar
@Onionman0
I think your XI is good except for the batting order. Yes Carty has been struggling against spin and is due a change
Athanaze needs to continue opening - "if it ain't broke doh fix it"
Ackeem at 3 because he is the third opener and rotates aside from a ball striker.
Hope in next because he's your best batter and needs to face has many deliveries as possible while adding stability to the middle order. Hence him not opening.
Rutherford is struggling but can play spin, so hopefully he turns it around this game.
Greaves come in for me simply based on form.
Followed by Chase and Jangoo both good players of spin.
Motie can float up the order depending on if the team struggled to increase the runrate and to introduce the left right combination where needed.
You may even wish to promote Shamar as needed to increase the runrate.
It's a matter of maximizing your resources.
Shamar seems like a good option for Seales because he is a skiddy type wicket to wicket bowler and not forgetting the use of cutters mixed in. In so doing we are allowing the wicket do the work.
These are my thoughts
@Onionman0
Guy, it really doesn’t matter who is selected, it is highly unlikely the result would be different, our cricketers are simply not good enough. You should know this by now
@Onionman0
@InHindsight
I am not one for chopping and changing. Carty has an average of 46.70 and in the last 12-16 months his emergence at # 3 has been one of the maIn reasons for our success at home. He had scores of 29 , 17, 16 an d 9 vs Pak and Bangaldesh but also remember he scored 95 and 45 vs the same Bangladesh in St.Kitts.
Romario Shepherd batting at 9 and bowling does to make any sense. He is neither good enough to be a fulltime bowler or batsman. I suggest we bring in Jangoo for him as we already have Greaves as our 5th bowler, and Rutherford can bowl as well. Jangoo should get the gloves as well.
@voiceofreason
It's not chopping..... it's horses for courses......
Non of batters...tried sweep shot....
West Indies missed the trick.....by not selecting Akeal or Bidiasee....
Seales was very expensive.... Shepherd first 5 overs..8 runs..1 wicket..
These are very important matches....as expected ranked turner pitches have been prepared....
Start bowling with Shamar and spinner...treat remaining two matches as 40 overs...for bowlers....if Bangladesh survive 40 overs....either batting first or second.... Bangladesh winning...
@InHindsight
Jangoo is an opener. Why play him down the order. He and Hope should open. They are the 2 best players of spin and likes to bat for long periods.
@rillo
Jangoo started off as a middle order batsman. We are not changing the openers and if so why pick on Athanaze who is a leftie and a good player of spin.
Jangoo for Shepherd.
@Onionman0
West Indies missed the trick.....by not selecting Akeal or Bidiasee....
Ok we have to work with what we have. Motie did not bowl well so I expect him to dust off that rust and perform better Tuesday,
Seales was very expensive.... Shepherd first 5 overs..8 runs..1 wicket
Seales may have been very expensive but he took 3 wickets as he is considered a strike bowler. There's no doubt who is the better bowler there.
Greaves and Shepherd virtually play the same role.
Amir Jangoo in the playing XI will not change the performance or results of this team.
As is normal with West Indies fandom, players that don’t play “are the best performers”……until they actually play.
Then the players that don’t play become the “new best performers”.
@voiceofreason
Seales may have been very expensive but he took 3 wickets as he is considered a strike bowler. There's no doubt who is the better bowler there.
Before Seales took his last two wickets...5.3 overs..46 runs..1 wicket.. Bangladesh 199/7...
Motie was very poor....he was in Chennai Super kings training facility...both combined to concede 90 runs in 16 overs...3 wickets...
Be that as it may......with limited option......For me Shamar replace Seales....Carty out..Jangoo in.... Shepherd out..Auguste in....
With pitch like that... it's 40 overs match.....by that match decided...

Amir Jangoo in the playing XI will not change the performance or results of this team.
It might be true .....but he is one of the better spin batter....
Dataman...missed Bidiasee & Akeal...T-20 team..there....might get Akeal on board....
@imusic
It is not a forgone conclusion that by changing the starting XI it won't make a difference. Sometimes all it takes I a rejig of the batting order.
Carty is have much time for is struggling with form and playing quality spin.
Jangoo is touted as a good player of spin.
Unlike what rillo is suggesting I will not change the openers for two reasons. It worked thus far in the first game. And Athanaze though not guaranteed to make runs next two games, us one of our better players of spin.
Jangoo I wouldn't put to open in this scenario because the other option is more likely to capitalized in the powerplay. Also given his style of accumulation and the vulnerability and propensity to collapse of WI, her is better served down the middle.
We may wish to slot Hosein in to replace Shepherd.
