At least Devon Smith dominated something what has Brandon dominated at regional level??? - - - Stay with the topic, we are not talking about Regionals. I ask you what is the INTERNATIONAL difference between King (29.16) the opener and Devon "he must be persisted with" Smith (24.62)? How could you be anything but biased? How can you call for one to be dropped and the other persisted with?

Fletcher is a Millionaire! - - - stay with the topic, we were not talking about finances. You are the first to tell others not to talk about your idol's spouse or other aspects of his personal life only his cricket. Can you now practice what you preacher Mr. Worshipper?

Athanaze was already dropped and has recently returned to the team so wheel and come again! - - - I am quite fine with Athanaze being given a bit more of a rope through 2025 for some maturity in his cricket to match his obvious talent .

I wait for your answers.

@Slippery fella

 Remember when Hope was failing as test cricket opener,

When did this happen? No need to make up facts.

Additionally, the most difficult position in the batting line up is that of an Opener,

Test cricket maybe but not so much in ODIS where fields are in and only 2 fielders outside. Come up with another excuse for your boy Brandon.

@voiceofreason

So, if you are not insular then how comes you are so happy that Athanaze is given an opportunity to redeem himself after successive failures but no concerns about the same opportunities for McKenzie and other such young players?

In case you have forgotten, Brandon King played in the IPL and other professional cricket leagues just as Fletcher.

Devon Smith has not dominated test cricket which is way more important than domestic dunghill cricket. I cannot believe that you are bigging up a player solely based on regional cricket, then you have the audacity of talking about mediocrity. When Devon Smith is the embodiment of mediocrity .

@voiceofreason

Another of VOD mediocrity players of whom he was strongly supportive:

Dwayne Smith

Test 24.61

ODI 18.57

T20 18.18

Yet the man shamelessly asking for King to be dropped with a 28.0 average? What a ridiculous hypocrite?

I already told you to stop making up stuff. I never supported Dwayne Smith.

This is what its all about? Your Godson Kirk Mckenzie, the same one who beat up on Oz lol. You are ridiculous.

I was saying that at least Devon dominated something, whileBrandon has not yet he was granted a 2 year all-format contract! Don't hear you complaining about that. So they will persist with him regardless of what I think.

To single out King for special scrutiny is shrouded with biased thinking.....to divert from main issue...the poor performance of team under Sammy Head Coach....

Sammy still in captain mould rather than Head Coach..... setting fielding from boundary.....

Surrounded by people like Reifer..total failure...Just see the video of qualification of 2023.. Zimbabwe... although West Indies failed....the batter under guidance of Carl Hooper...were using feet against spinners...cut to 2025 ODI series.....Athanaze got out in all occasions sweeping ball from stumps...no rectification by coach...

Rampaul..no experience..he is learning on road...just like Sammy..whereas, Bangladesh has seperate spin coach Mushtaq Ahmad..Rampaul knowledge about spin.. anyone guess..

Griffith... fielding coach..7 catches dropped in final ODI...

Get a good coaching team..this very team would be competitive...as victories vs Pak & Aus showed....

Don't blame players.....

Sammy, Management and CWI....

Be Answerable..

VOR ent shame to mention ‘an era where bat dominates ball’ ? Man that is shameless and emperor’s new clothes stuff!

can’t make over 200 consistently in Test matches, losing in three days and by innings and hundreds of runs

and keep promoting meek and mild disciples to not upset Sammy’s ‘apple’ cart

@voiceofTREASON:

Why are you defending the obvious? That Scammy and the low standards by the Cabal in running West Indies Cricket is a major problem?

Devon Smith played only 47 ODI matches in the space of 10 years:

His career was sporadic:

Debut in May 2003 played 3 matches.

3 games from May to July 2004.

19 Games from Jan 2007 -April 2008 had his HS score of 91 vs RSA .

July- Sep 2009 5 games.

10 Games in 2011 registered his only century 107 vs Ireland.

5 Games in 2013.

Drop after drop after drop!

Brandon King from 06 Feb 2022 has played 53 consecutive games!

Now has 2 year all format contract and so another 53 games!

Your Brandon King issue wont find root with me as I have called for him to be dropped. On King I am saying he deserved to be set aside just like Devon Smith who you requested that he be persisted with over a period of TEN YEARS (your statistics) despite not being able to average 30. You are unwilling to call for the heads of your countrymen.

FLETCHIAL - leave his bank account and talk about cricket.

ATHANAZE - deserves a run until the end of 2025 then based on his returns, he should be dropped or "persisted with".

Sat, Oct 25, '25 at 10:40 AM

@JoeGrine

Slippy not saying he should play, but sees hypocrisy when it comes to Yaad players. See posters suggesting he plays his way back in, yet a 20odd average man walk right back in the side.

Ha Ha Ha! Pedaling back to say you called for his dropping... Just exposed his 53 matches with 20 + average that is what got you changing your tune!

You did not get the Devon Smith stat work did you. Hopeless.

You Yardies are in no position to call anyone INSULAR. As you all go quiet on your home boys and defend them vociferously despite their mediocrity. Even heard some calling for Keacy Carty to be dropped but NEVER heard one Yardie call for Brandon King to be dropped.

Sat, Oct 25, '25 at 11:51 AM

@voiceofreason

If you could read you would see where I have said expressly on another thread :"on the basis of his performance, or lack thereof, Brandon King should be dropped."

I suspect you never saw that as your head is busy up where many here say it has its lodgings.

Sat, Oct 25, '25 at 12:57 PM

@JoeGrine

Post it please. I also never heard you questioning his eligibility for a 2 year all format contract!
