I was at Primary school the morning Sir Frank was 197 not out, we were told by the Headmaster that we could listen to the game at lunch time, this was the first time any Redifusion was allowed on.

Sir Frank batted all morning without scoring the double.

JO Morris, the HM, taught us History, French and Latin. I was fortunate to take private lessons and walk to cricket every Saturday morning from that man.

I knew he was a close friend of Sir Frank, as his speech after that day was about strength and courage as a black person.
