@Halliwell

Seems to me Kamla is picking her Caricom friends carefully

she needs nothing from any other Caricom territory besides Guyana

and you don’t have to wonder why

@sgtdjones

Thanks for your opinion, Sarge. I dont agree with a word of it. KPB has shown a lack of any knowledge of international relations and a lack of foresight. I assume you are Trini so you will know the term "Bravay Danjay" (phonetic). That is all that she is about. You dont provoke your neighbour. You offer to mediate if your neighbours are having words. You are a member of a community. You consult with them and see if you can have a community response. To blame Venezuela or any other country for Trinidad crime situation is nothing short of naivety and surrender that you are unable to do anything about it yourself. Has there been any attempt at discussions with Venezuelan government about joint response to the sea trafficking? Trafficking affects all the islands. Has there been any discussion of a plan to deal with the trafficking at sea if this is the root of the problem? What we see is a government bereft of ideas to solve its own social problems and depending on strangers who have their own axes to grind to do so. Good luck with that.

Moonilal denies any discontent over PM’s UNC leadership - Trinidad Guardian

It’s pure BS! So said United National Congress (UNC) deputy leader Dr Roodal Moonilal yesterday, as he accused the People’s National Movement (PNM) of being behind social media allegations of issues with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s behaviour and leadership of the party—and he’s declared all UNC MPs are united behind her.

Other MPs said the claims were “the product of some warped ... mischievous mind.”

Moonilal, via a statement, immediately rubbished the claims, which surfaced on social media on Tuesday night, saying it was revealing that political mischief was afoot by the Opposition after recent alleged “drug money funding” accusations.
“Coward and nameless operatives of the PNM are engaging in a feeble attempt to destabilise the strong and cohesive UNC administration, which has made tangible improvements to the quality of citizens’ lives in its first six months in office. I assure the nation that we’re all united behind the hardworking and visionary Prime Minister Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar. We’re in full support of her courageous stand against drug cartels, narco traffickers and human traffickers.”

@notinsular

Funny how everytime they, PNM lose they leave the country with an empty Treasury,in the 80s it was the same and now in 2025.Being in charge for too long makes them "dictators"Rowley behaved like one no wonder he and his PNM lost 100000 votes,voters who always voted for the PNM.They wanted PNM and Rowley out,out and out they went.

You really singing that UNC mantra?

Remember it was Kamla and her squandemania from 2010-2015 that took us below water with deficit budgets, even amid record high oil prices.

$6.5 billion credit in the Treasury when the UNC-led People's Partnership government took office in May 2010.
There was a negative balance of $8.5 billion in the Treasury by the time the UNC left office in September 2015.

The PNM then had to navigate tough global macroeconomic headwinds (including a pandemic). Within that period no government workers were sent home. They had to pay out significant backpay arrears the UNC promised but did not pay before demitting office.

Rowley behaved like one no wonder he and his PNM lost 100000 votes,voters who always voted for the PNM.

and boy are they regretting it now !! ask any of them.

the 40000 plus workers from forestry, WASA, including the CPEP, URP workers sent home because of claims of corruption by the contractors that employed them. (No evidence shown, no cases before the courts)

But in this incarnation the UNC is even more vindictive.

If you "look like a PNM" ( guess what that means!) you will get terminated.

I personally know of a senior UNC official that visited a state enterprise branch office to count how many people "looked like UNC". In the case of staff who happened to be on lunch or in the field, he wanted photo ID !!!

Unfortunately a lot of PNM voters who didn't get fooled by the propaganda and promises are laughing at the less fortunate ones who were hoodwinked (when UNC wins everyone wins)

THey were convinced that "Rowley wicked" .. he "didn't do nothing for PNM people"

Some are even fooled by the recent budget with a $1 decrease in prices at the pump .... not realising the impact of all the other less direct taxes coming at them

Yet the wicked PNM (without typical UNC fanfare) increased the value of their non-taxable income from $60K to $90K which represented more take home income to the tune of up to $625/month for many workers.

But give it to the UNC they know how to hoodwink the naive and illiterate.
