KB is definitely not a 50 overs player; A better choice would be young Parris or the 19y.o Edwin Currency- Bennett.

@seaegg99 & Sudden
I listened to the Mason show on Tuesday. Ian Bradshaw and Kevin Stoute are against everything you stand for. To be called to trial in our glory days, 500 runs was the benchmark.
Kevin is also pissed with the BCA contracts, only about 10 of the 15 qualify, he said, and a number of the contracted players are not utilizing the facilities.
No wonder we continue to see the lack of progress with the youngsters.
They both went after the Elite name of the division.
I have followed too much cricket in Barbados, and I know the standards are way beyond par.
You just don't select players because of age.
Wickham was the best batsman a year ago and should be knocking on the door. Check his stats from last year.
Whoever meets the criteria should be selected.
@openning
Can Mayers, KB, Leacock, Jordan get any better than the level they are at right now. So Ian Bradshaw and Kevin Stoute two players of slightly above talent, whose game stagnated at regional level, does not have the foresight to give talent an avenue to flourish.
Where Auguste, Anthony, K Anderson, Mckenzie, Seales, Joseph are young talents given the chance to develop at Regional level. They hopefully are looking to kick on to the international level and some have already.
Who are the young Bajan talent, other than Greaves,(LI), Wickham, Layne (Academy), Blades (CCC) and Springer (WI)), have Barbados allowed to compete in the region. A youth get one game here and there. The veterans (Slightly above average players), returns and it is back home to watch another season slip away.
The only saving grace was that regional player integration allowed the above to develop because in Bim they would not get the playing time to get better.
This all the while Barbados dominates U19, U17 and U15 regionals every year. Bajan selectors are one of the reasons WI cricket continue to lag because we can't help playing the recycle game. Name Brands who have never really made a name for themselves but are looked at as essentials.
@seaegg99
Let me spell it out for you.
Barbados has not produced an International great in almost three decades, yet you want to continue the path of the last three decades.
We had many youngsters who were selected during that time, from Bessie to Kraigg. Why would you want to continue the same old procedure?
You seem to think one good score is enough to be selected, or a couple of cover drives.

Yes they can, get a hobby work daily at it, even you will see results
Were Jamaica and Barbados paid prize monies from last year's 50 0vers tournament?
Reifer and Campbell were cleared of wrongdoing in the washed-out final. Teams should boycott this year's tournament if Bim and Yard not paid their winnings. No event fiasco or otherwise stops Bascombe and Shallow from collecting their fat salaries.
Any insight on what the fight between Vasbert Drakes and Shaq Parris was about???
@Castled
The BCA case is in the courts; these findings are kept from the public.
@openning
Buddy, it is no secret that most of these youngsters have issues
most don’t turn up to practice and if they do they come with bad attitudes and don’t want to do drills or tell the coach a lot of Shoite
Their contracts should be revoked
i still wouldn’t select Bobo or McCaskie for ODIs
@sudden
I even heard some of them after practice stay around the nets drinking and smoking.
Kraigg is not ready to retire and is still scoring runs for Wanderer; he is among the runs again this year in all formats.
A youngster would have to outscore these older players, which they are not doing.
@sudden
.
He want to overlay old manners pun these youths. That will not reach them.
More flexible techniques have to be used on them. While prior players were more self made.
This group need more hands on guidance and education on what the goals are and the benefits
to them. Most of the players seems like getting embarrassed is meaningless to them.
They are mentally unprepared so winning is not an option at all.
@seaegg99
Bro, I am still a student. I got into dancing and golfing, not by saying all black people can dance, so I don't have to take lessons, or look at Tiger Woods, and copy his swing.
Being a Suzuki parent taught me the importance of taking private lessons and maintaining consistent practice.
@openning
yes, almost all young men in Bim, maybe young women too, smoke ganja and don’t see a problem in so doing
Now that we have identified the problems, what are we going to do?
surely we cannot continue to do the same old Shoite over and over
Bobo is no ODI player if we are to go from his exploits representing Bim in comparable tournaments
surely we can take a chances with some of the younger players
whatever happened to Kadeem Alleyne?
is he playing for another team?
@sudden
The BCA has to use some of the goodwill that has been accumulated over the years by having bilateral youth tournaments in England, South Africa and other countries.
When I first met Vasbert Drakes, he was playing in South Africa, and returned every year for the regional 4-day..
Several youngsters visit Barbados annually for the Sir Gary competition. How many teams from Barbados travel during the summer?
I have been following Franklyn Stephenson Academy as they travel to England and South Africa.
As you are aware, cricket is a professional sport, far different from the 50's..
In Infrastructure is needed for the development of cricket.
Why are 2&4 grounds still available in the highest level of cricket.
I suggested programs to Fuzzy several years ago; his response was, his taxes would increase.
Carlos Brathwaite has some initiatives; he is a board member, let's hope the old brigades listen to him.
Wildey 356-6 declared (76.1 overs) (Joshua Dorne 127 – 144 balls, 10 fours (NB: third batsman to reach 500 runs for the season; now has 560 runs); Demetrius Richards 100 – 147 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes; Nimar Bolden 58 – 67 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes; Deswin Currency 39 not out; Jadan Jones 2-35, Damian Davis 2-79).
