Hi Prof. I am alive. My house in Treasure Beach badly damaged. Only lost a window in Negril. There is no connectivity except for the Starlink that I am taking advantage of at resort. I have tried to go to Whitehouse and Treasure Beach to check on my folks but could only reach to Ferris, Westmoreland. Roads are impassable. Total destruction. I drove in a river from Little London to Sav La Mar. Mannings School looks like a shell.

I am still processing this.

Got to Whitehouse yesterday. I saw only one property in Whitehouse/New Hope (where she made landfall) that was not badly damaged. I saw settlements that I never knew existed all these years have been driving on these roads. unfortunately most of the houses looked like wooden structures and they were totally mangled with what is left of trees. You do not need binoculars to see the soil of the mountains, trees stripped, looking white. I hope the rains stay away as this is a major landslide waiting to happen.

I saw looters doing there thing over the HEART training school (women with their kids). The people are suffering badly. The police station is totally destroyed but I saw JDF forces moving in. Also met some overseas NGOs offering food there yesterday. A number of folks from Kingston & Mandeville as well were there to collect their relatives.
