This is what I have been writing about for decades

Good to see Ackeem AUGUSTE getting out of the region and getting help.

Alec Athanaze did the same a few years ago. I saw him last year rehearsing for T20 cricket during the 4-day tournament, and I called him out.

Youngster, try building your game, and the world will be your oyster.

He and others did a spin camp in India as well which seemed to work hopefully the players realized if they invest in themselves results will come!!!

Kavem Hodge is another one working extremely hard on his game interested to see if it will bear fruit!!!

@WIfan26

I first learn of continuous practice from Sir Everton Weekes.

He jokingly told my Antiguian brother and me about Seymour Nurse practicing from Morning to night in preparation for Australia. Seymour scored a double century, to which Bobby Simpson wrote in his book,: I felt sorry for the youngster but as his innings progressed, I felt sorrier for my bowlers".

Seymour, in his last few years, scored a double against Australia and another double against New Zealand in New Zealand and retired.

I know WI donโ€™t have the best resources but we certainly have the talent and I believe the players have to marry it with hard work!!!

Shai Hope & Nicholas Pooran are the only oneโ€™s who consistently put in work hence theyโ€™re the most successful!!!

Never mind those snakes. A

Snake, only change its skin, just to become a bigger snake. If those snakes had their way, Athenaze, nor Auguste, would never play for WI. tell Openning pae bondi.

@openning

Absolutely......

So Toby is working....

In the past...A player after scoring a hundred credited Toby ...at that time Monty Desai was batting coach appointed by CWI ..

Now,Reifer ...

Question also arises about the credentials and credibility of batting coaches appointed by CWI .

I always believe that Coaches have big impact on players and team ..

Present case ...South Africa Head Coach.... results improved drastically...team performances in All formats.....like never before...

@Onionman0

The post is not about coaches, it's about players seeking help and working on flaws.

A player can only get better by putting in the work away from the game.

I don't know much about the coaches in the region, but I do recall taking my first set of golf lessons a few decades ago. At the end of the set, I was given a disc with what to work on.

I am aware of Gordan Greenidge relying on fans he respected to watch him at practice and to tell what was wrong.

These guys were not certified batting coaches, but were all knowledgeable in GG's eyes..

@Edrich

If you think commenting on the Windwards not producing one great international player or after seeing Dominica against Barbados, and asking for these islands to separate, you would have been against Sir Frank wanting to separation of the Combined Islands.

You are talking about time, when any player wanting to seek help....could approach certified or knowledgeable person......in today's environment.... extreme professional....there are very few... certified or knowledgeable person are available and or approachable.....

As for coaches.... appointed...players getting out same shot...time and again...

It both ways...players wanting/seeking help......and same available or affordable..

You are right.

The French basketball Phenomenon Wembynyama worked with Hakeem Olajuwon, Jamal Crawford, Kevin Garnett and even did a stint with a Tibetan monks over the off season. Now he is at another level.

Takes Money, discipline, and determination to be great. I would gladly support any youngster who came to me and said I want to improve my game can you sponsor me to this camp or coach.
