I found an article which states the CWI gets 20% of the players fee for each T20 league that they play in.. so it's not just the IPL. Dem fellas probably funding all of the players contracts for the year.

This will be an amount equivalent to 20 per cent of the player fee (as defined in the player contract) that is actually paid to the relevant player. All NOCs will be subject to West Indies international commitments and, in respect of centrally contracted players, official domestic cricket matches in the West Indies.

Pooran and Russell retired this year so they would have paid that 20% for each franchise league up to the date they retired. Hety is still paying.

Again how did these players get to the point where they are? Were they privately funded by friends and family or sponsorship? Which tournaments did they play at U-15, U-17, U-19. Which camps or clinic or academies did they attend? Who funded their participation?

When these guys get injured CWI does do anything for them? Pooran was banned by CWI during his injury... Alzarri IPL team covered all of his expenses and rehab during his injury... CWI don't do shyte for most of these guys yet they collecting their monies and do nonsense with it.

On a side note... where did you get your education? Do you pay 20% of your income to dottieland?

These players don't need CWI; all our youngsters have three lanes to choose from, and it is up to them.

Teams playing T20 cricket need players with solid batting and bowling skills. Seales, Hosein, and Shai are the only three who exhibit some of these skills.

Ok CWI did nothing for their development. I got it. They won the World cup by fluke. I got it.

There are some countries that have scholarship programmes where you are required to either come back and work or pay back a part of the scholarship if you opt to stay abroad.

Funny enough I believe all 3 of those guys are extremely talented and should play International cricket in the future. I know the WI isn’t spoiled for International quality players but my God you can’t keep throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks 🙄

There has to be a better pathway for players other than passport and what CPL team you play for 🫠
