Now that King has failed it is reminiscent of Rutherford.

And so he would seem Luke WI played these last two games with only 9 men

Conditions don't suit Hosein first of all.

But Sammy's penchant to persist with players as much as he does when they lose form, isn't working.

I actually admire his willingness to persist with players as it gives them the confidence that the Coach has their back. The team won a series and are 1 up so it gives Brandon some more rope. New Zealand mean business, so we have to up the ante.

I am with you on that. Not that he should drop players as soon as they fail in some games. I am only questioning the extended run they are allowed.

For context, assuming say four consecutive match were played on this game, we see clearly Hosein is not appropriate given, the size of the ground, number of lefties in Kiwi XI and also the match up with left don't favor him Moreno on these surfacrs. For some players that can further see destroy confidence

For both Rutherford and King if either had been replaced no one can say they weren't persisted with

Again favouritism to certain players over others! I hate to sound like a broken record on this forum but why is no one listening to me? Why do players like King and Rutherford get a longer rope than say a Gudakesh Motie?

Bruh not everything should be viewed in these simplistic terms.

It does automatically amount to favouriism.

@InHindsight

So explain why it happens then dude? Scammy is fcuking sole selector!

Thu, Nov 6, '25 at 6:05 AM

@Seechy

Dude it is obviously a matter of policy with Sammy.

Same graces extended to both King and Rutherford.

You're too blinded by nepotism to comprehend.

@Seechy

Again Bro. Motie with his poor form would have been taken to the cleaners in these conditions, further damaging his confidence. Do you want that? He could not take wickets in Bangladesh so he will take in New Zealand?

Let him sort out his action and come back in the next series. Sammy did him a favor.

@InHindsight

I am not one who subscribes to this match up idea. Good bowlers should be able to bowl well against left or right handers. They cannot be one-dimensional. A similar type bowler: Santner 4 overs 3/31 albeit defending 208.

@voiceofreason

He could not take wickets in Bangladesh so he will take in New Zealand?

He was not selected for the first 2 matches and was given only 1 over in the Bangladesh T20Is...Don't you think that is why he didn't take wickets? Scammy and he skunt captains mek dah happen. I recall Motie took 4 wickets in the ODI series, but that is a different format altogether and should not be used as a metric for T20I selection.

Fam please. Scammy gave King and Rutherford a much longer rope than Motie, and both you and I know the reason why. All I'm asking is for players to be given the length of rope.

Thu, Nov 6, '25 at 7:32 AM

Everyone on that team who experiences a "dip in form" should be dropped!

Dip in form my ass. More like wrong skin colour.

Thu, Nov 6, '25 at 7:43 AM

Dip in what form?

Thu, Nov 6, '25 at 1:43 PM

@Seechy

Yeah Motieeeeeeeee

Thu, Nov 6, '25 at 1:45 PM

@InHindsight

Disagree. What message are you sending yo your #1 T20I bowler, by hiding him. That would boost your confidence?
