They are correct. Pictures and videos do not show the magnitude of devastation. On the ground, looking into the eyes of the people tell you another story. Yesterday I saw 3 men fighting over a case of water at one of the areas providing support. One of them pulled a shovel and I thought the worst was about to happen. Luckily two men held him back.
The people are desperate. Yet giving thanks to organizations like World Central Kitchen the people are getting meals daily. The concern is how sustainable this is. Luckily other companies are coming on board to provide building materials. We are now trying to get financial support to assist fishers & farmers with fish trap wires and farming input. This is the only way to get back folks to earning a living and create a sustainable recovery effort.
