@Chrissy

They are correct. Pictures and videos do not show the magnitude of devastation. On the ground, looking into the eyes of the people tell you another story. Yesterday I saw 3 men fighting over a case of water at one of the areas providing support. One of them pulled a shovel and I thought the worst was about to happen. Luckily two men held him back.

The people are desperate. Yet giving thanks to organizations like World Central Kitchen the people are getting meals daily. The concern is how sustainable this is. Luckily other companies are coming on board to provide building materials. We are now trying to get financial support to assist fishers & farmers with fish trap wires and farming input. This is the only way to get back folks to earning a living and create a sustainable recovery effort.

I am a Jamaican so obviously I feel sorry for the good people who have lost there houses and some there livelihood also.

But in reality this devastation is long overdue for today's Jamaica.

The vast majority of the black people on the island full of too much badmind and jealousy for dem one another. When they are not shooting each other, they are working obeah on each other. Yet Jamaica has more churches than some first world countries. But even in the church dem still ah wok obeah. God has truly spoken to the people. The next hurricane there might be not one survivor. But I feel it for the few good people and the children of course.

@FunnyMan

I can only shake my head reading such...suh God couldn't give dem "wicked" people one mo' chance? By the way A Christian believer who prayed for the demise of "their wicked enemy" better than obeah worker who "work for" The demise of theirs?

@FunnyMan

So because of "badmind and oheah" your god destroyed half of the island. Mmmm I wonder how many of the dead were badminded and into obeah. Of course, I know after your thorough research into Jamaica obeah and badmindness practices and insight into God's vengance you came up with this bullshite. It seems an hurricane that mere humans could forcast hitting Jamaica a week before it did by explaining athmospheric and climatic conditions is definately an act of god

Not me paddnah... the link was posted by a poster and in that link that was one of the comments from someone who was born there.

Anyways, me personally, JA is like a third home to me... been going back since 2007 and made many a trips there since (at least 8-10)... I've chosen to spend my vacation money there.. but who knows what percentage of it goes to the government and if/how they use it wisely.

On the hurricane note... so far, 11 of my friends & I are supporting.. we made our donation last night, as a matter of fact, to a trustworthy charity. I just hope that the folks on the ground get more than 90% of the funds.... ο»Ώο»ΏπŸ™ο»Ώο»Ώ

Ah doan think bessis was aiming at you but perhaps agreeing.

I thoroughly believe in the saying " one man's religion is another man's superstition' So, since religion can be man's greatest divider all should leave all others peaceably to worship theirs' or not worship at all in peace.
