I dont mind the age. I don't see the need for players who will play for 15 years. I am quite happy with the Mike Husseys who can give five quality years

Well, if Shields did get a call up , congrats to him, but in NZ conditions Forde and Shepherd might probably be more effective as they are more experience and they swing the red ball. Shields has a tendency to spray the ball all over at times. Guyanese fast bowler Smith might have been more deserving to get a call up.

Sometimes he does spray it around from watching some of his games but the also traps a lot of players on the crease because of his pace. Maybe being invited to camp and working with Roach and the others have helped him workout some of his kinks. He looks to be as quick as S. Joseph.
Smith is always injured or out of match condition.
