T&T..Bravo, Pollard appointed sport ambassadors
The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has announced the appointment of two of Trinidad and Tobago’s most celebrated cricketers, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard, as Ambassadors for Sport for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.In a statement, the Ministry said the appointments recognise the pair’s exceptional achievements in international cricket and their ongoing contributions to promoting the nation’s image globally.
Bravo, an award-winning all-rounder and former West Indies captain, has long been regarded as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s premier sportsmen. Beyond his cricketing success, he has made significant cultural contributions through music and global representation of the Trinidad and Tobago brand. In 2015, he was awarded the Hummingbird Medal (Gold) for his service to sport.
Pollard, also a former West Indies limited-overs captain, is widely respected for his leadership, professionalism, and success across international and franchise cricket, particularly in the T20 format. His career has made him a standard-bearer for Trinidad and Tobago on the global sporting stage.
