tage is not good enough

To carry water, much less to be included in test team. the team has king already, why another liability?

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 2:50 PM

@Edrich

I agree with you about King.

However...

Chanderpaul 12 Tests average 29

Campbell 25 Tests average 26

Athanaze 15 Tests average 25

Hope 43 Tests average 25

King four Tests average 18

Chase 54 Tests average 25

Greaves 11 Tests average 22

Hodge 11 Tests average 25

Tage is the best of a pretty bad bunch....

@Edrich

I just can't understand this guy's selection, I find him more of an impediment to the game, he presents a gloom picture on the field especially when batting

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 4:04 PM

@mikesiva

There are lies

damned lies

And then there are statistics

it is a FACT that Tage has a test batting average of 29 in 12 test matches and 23 test innings.

It is also a FACT that those 23 test innings include 1 innings of 207 not out against ZIMBABWE.

He also has 1 other not out.

So without that 1 not out innings against Zimbabwe, his test batting average would be 18.40.

I put it to you that a test batting average of 18.40 is a truer representation of Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s performances with the bat in test cricket.

Kyle Mayers is similar but better.

He has a test batting average of 32.72 from 18 test matches and 32 innings.

Like Tage, he also has a significant big score that bolsters his test batting average.

He scored 210 not out against Bangladesh

He also has 3 not outs in total

Without that 1 significant innings of 210 not out, his test batting average is 25.48.

The reality is, on the contrary, Tage is likely the worst of a pretty bad bunch

@imusic

So in your view scoring a double century is a negative and should be removed from their records as in the case of Tage and Mayers to get a more suitable comprator.

You can count on always learning something new here ...😀

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 5:11 PM

@imusic

Mayers is much more convincing than Chanderpaul and many others, he has two Tests centuries and two fifties, he also has the best runs per wicket in bowling than any present WI bowler. I guess he has some issue why he was not given a longer Test career

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 5:32 PM

@imusic

He also has 1 other not out

.Chanderpaul's always not out . they rest ah ah them always get bowled down😀

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 5:54 PM

Tage has the wrong hair style

And i don't care who does not like my post!

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 6:06 PM

@Kay

De man seh remove the not out lol

Guess we gotta remove all the not outs from every batsmen to get a more comparative average 😁

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 6:44 PM

@Edrich

@Kay

Coley di real-real coach got the best out of Tage. An', di man never even hadda clap not one time😀😀

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 7:35 PM

@Edrich

SO...exactly who good enough??

Fri, Nov 21, '25 at 7:37 PM

@Kay

@Kay

TAGE is one of the best....averages at times doesn't show the entire truth...

He has played 12 tests..

4 vs Australia in Australia

2 vs South Africa in South Africa

2 vs IND in India

Toughest opposites.... toughest conditions..

He started well vs Australia @40 in first series...then scored double vs Zimbabwe....but unfortunately lost his touch....still young... strong character....needs a run of few matches....

Vs India...showed character...
