@bravos

Yes and I gave my opinion. Whatever the situation or cycle the US leverage and influence remains constant and hard to resist for any small country that wants to excel. That's not really opinion or support, it's simple clear fact .

if that is the case, why not come right out and tell the public the truth

@sudden

Buh yuh know that comes with the territory . Boy it seems like I've learned to see clear between the bullshit yes. Kamla despite her missteos is doing a very good job in general..murders down by almost half , new laws are being passed to deal with crime etc..we are seeing the results already,plenty activity and stimulation in energy, downstream industry and agriculture etc..Public servants got a deal after many years etc..new state of the art hospital finally opening etg.

There's an air of optimism around despite the current geopolilitical tensions .

@bravos

You clearly don't live in TnT and follow the UNC talking points from afar.

murders down

Murders have been down since the first state of emergency, (the one that Kamla said is "shameless political gimmickery" but is now her de facto crme plan ). Crime is actually on the rise again as the criminals have started getting "SOE immunity"

new laws are being passed to deal with crime

You mean the copycat stand your ground law that has been showed to be generally ineffective while facilitating racial profiling?

Speaking of racial profiling you do know that the unspoken UNC strategy is to bring to heel the non-indo elements in the society. You don't have to read the social media racist rants to know this, just look at a sampling of their actions in that regard in 6 short months:

  1. Dismantled all the social work programs for the less advantaged -. CPEP and URP, putting tens of thousands on the bread line. They have always perceived these to be programs that benefit more non-indo citizens. Their excuse that there were ghost gangs without providing hard evidence is ridiculous. Even if there were such gangs, weed out the elements at the top rather than put tens of thousands on the breadline.
  2. Put a stop to the youth training programs set up by their predecessors
  3. Canceled Indepedence day celebrations on the pretext of national security and the potential disruption with fireworks etc. Ye they allowed said fireworks and DIvali celebration not long after
  4. The most profitable state enterprise National gas company has sponsored 2 steelbands for decades. She removed sponsorship and did so for all other wteeelband sponsorships from state enterprises. meanwhile National gas sponsorship of a tassa group remains. They aso cut ubventions to the NCC (national carnival commission). hey don't view carnival as an enabler of tourism but as "them people cuture".
  5. Fired literally any non-indo exceutives and directors on state boards
  6. introduced huge increases in excise on local brewers and producers of alcoholic beverages like Angosturs. Targeting the perceived 1% syrians and local whites.

that's just a sample

Meanwhile on the finance side she has increased the maximum allowable limit for external foreign loans from $50 million currently to $45B.

Keep an eye out for "raid the treasury UNC style" 2.0

Foreign reserves have already dropped by close $1B US since they took office. Cost of basic goods have gone up. People can't even drown their sorrows on a weekend with a couple cold ones . Some drinks have gone up 100%

When Manning imposed a 10-15% increase in alcohol some decades ago there was almost an uprising. But now the person at the top looks like us, so no big thing!!

Public servants got a deal after many years

Still to be determined how this will be paid amid all the fanfare. One thing the UNC is good at is messaging.

They literally won over a gullible swath of the population. "The PNM is wicked, they never did anything for working people"

The tax able threshold was raised by the PNM twice in their nine years. So the taxable llowance when the UNC left in 2010 was $60000 but is $90000 now. At a marginal tax rate of 25% individuals earning more than 5k a month take home $7500/year more than they did under UNC. But poor PNM messaging, UNC propaganda and financially illiterate Trinis swallowed the UNC stories.

Many of those same masses now have serious buyers remorse, especially those that don't look like Kamla.

@notinsular

Are you saying KPB copied Trump’s campaign rhetoric and policies?

@notinsular

Are you saying sarge can return to the land to which he pays taxes, because is HE time now?

That’s a damning list of policy shifts if accurate!

but my friend, accountability. It doesn’t exist. In the Punishment mindset they stamp on the neck of the small man, but give all the elite a free pass. Ease dem up, don’t complain, this is d bess we kan do, is facks, or gorm man

@Halliwell

Are you saying sarge can return to the land to which he pays taxes, because is HE time now?

Of course. All now he must be negotiating a set of high profit "deals" and contracts. Probably set up a new entity in TnT to be properly poised . Notice he barely has time to be on the message board with his "but Rowley ... " obsevations and excuses for any UNC failings

It normally takes a couple months for the right people to be put in position to start sharing the spoils.

In the previous incarnation there were a couple noteable "bag men" who had to be assured of a cut of 20% or more on any significant "deals and contracts" ..

I bet you the Sarge probaly knows them well 😁
