can someone remind me why he is in NZ?

replace Motie...by making him VC, they try to legitimize the pick

@ray

So in other words, he is like Sammy, enjoying an all expense paid vacation?

@ray

Did warrican't not out bowled the great Motie on recent tours.

A captain not contributing and a vc that cannot make the side

Sammy is really the chosen one

Sort of like a cricket trump

Warrican is there as an insurance, if Chase cannot play Warrican will come in as the spin option and captain. However, for the 2nd Test it could be that Layne will be rested and Phillip will play, in NZ swing bowling is more effective than pace

@dayne

Shouldn't the vc be a sure pick to assist the captain?

Shouldn't he be able to replace the captain?

Even if Chase not there he us not a sure pick.

Warrican is the perfect choice as Chase’s vice captain.

If Chase is unavailable. Warrican can step in and WE KNOW WITH CERTAINTY, that Warrican will never average more with the bat, less with the ball, or even draw a test match.

So Chase’s spot is safe as can possibly be.

Roston Chase’s performances as West Indies captain below n for anyone’s reference x

ROSTON CHASE WI CAPTAINCY STATS
