What a remarkable innings by Justin Greaves!!!!!!

Over the years in life and cricket,I have seen many things I never thought I would see. I have witnessed extraordinary things from ordinary people.I have seen people do things that I never thought they could do, based on what they had done before.Yet I still used to limit what people could achieve based on their past performance.

All that went away when I achieved something I never thought I could achieve.I then realized that one must never limit your ambitions and you have to possess self-belief and determination to accomplish whatever it is you want out of your life.

GO WEST INDIES!!!!!!!!!!

@Dukes

Thought he was so underrated. Yes I love all-rounders and wicketkeepers are included in my all-rounder category.

@Dukes

And Dukes...Imusic spotted Greaves potential years ago...

He came through today and I am exceedingly proud.

Musicman always as on Greaves and correctly so. Bajan selectors saw him as mainly a bowling option because they are blind to batting talent. For that matter if you weren't KB, Brooks, Chase, Dowrich etc. you cannot bat but glad Greaves, Meyers, Springer and Shaqkere Parris made it out and got the time at the wicket to make names for themselves.

Sorry guys like L Boucher, and Jonathan Drakes had to sit around and wait to play with guys underperforming and only now getting some regional games under their belts

@Dukes

Give Greaves his credit without the long sermon.

@seaegg99

Greaves was competing with Carlos, Jason and Mayers as an allrounder, as a batsman he was up against Brooks, Kyle Hope and Kyle Corbin who were performing at the local and regional level.

Drakes and Boucher are now performing as they are in their 30s, Springer was never fit for many years. Young Parris should be in the team as well as young Depieza.

@tc1

We are not starved for Talent.

What I fear happens is how , on too many occasions - said young talent is left frustrated and sadly at times, discouraged.

The difference is mental fortitude - and the young talented ones -Have to KEEP WANTING IT!

funny how only yesterday I thought of Jofra Archer...and was thankful of his blood connections to England...or we may never have heard about him at the highest level.

We are not starved for talent... what we may lack is proper sustainable structure that leaves no one behind.

It is not as easy as we may think but it does need attention.

@powen001

Yes, but the talent takes time to mature and becomes a finished product.

have any one talk to our hommie Opening, I try sending him a PM but he did not go thru, I hope all is well with him.

Sat, Dec 6, '25 at 12:05 PM

@tc1

Yeah I was thinking the same thing myself re Opening.

we should ask Imusic

they are said to be close

@poweeen

We had players who had a name and international experience but when you have competition it allows for others to show they might be better and want it more. Look and Boucher and Mosely. One is a talented stroke maker and the other have friends so he plays. Boucher and Drakes now in their later 20s have to get experience on the regional level. If you can't see the difference in talent between the two that is a problem.

Dowrich quit and walked back into the team only to leave again. For what reason when Boucher, Clarke and D. Richards were young and needing the experience.

@sudden

Yes, he your hommie from Bibby Lane, I have not seen any post from Imusic either.

Sat, Dec 6, '25 at 12:21 PM

@seaegg99

Both Boucher and Drakes never lived up to their abilities, both are from Waterford, so where is the favoritism? Drakes is plus 30 and Boucher is approaching 30, Drakes plays at Wanderer and Boucher at Carlton both elite clubs.

@powen001

we do need a sustainable structure to ensure our cricketers can make a living not everyone will make it to play for Barbados or the West Indies, there is only 11 spots.

we needed to professionalize our cricket long time ago, instead we are still stuck playing 3s and 4s at Bank Hall and Queen's Park, the same way it was 100 years ago, no wonder the only world class batsman since Desmond Haynes is Shai Hope

@tc1

not recently but I hear you loud and clear- hopefully its just the busy ness of the season.
