Greaves has been a prolific run-maker in the region for the last two years,fans are overlooking his three consecutive centuries in List A. His Test century against Bangladesh, and many fifties in the four-days competition. Hopefully after this double century he becomes more consistent. Well, Kraigg,Holder, Mayers and Greaves have test double centuries, it should inspire Hope and Chase to try joining the double century club
@powen001
I know that a family member was ill for some time, I will try to reach out to him .
@powen001
Bajan 2 d Bone my ass!
Man go from here with your foolishness.
Greaves was discarded by the BCA. He found a new home with Leewards where he flourished in his new role as bating allrounder in Super50 and R4D tournaments.
@voiceofreason
discarded?
Who writing your scripts bro-- Trump Whitehouse?
You missed the entire part about not being starved for talent OR
the Franchise system also in play??
Thats like saying we Discarded Shai Hope so he could play for Guyana
ah know yuh celebrating bro but ease off o de Port wine eh
@powen001
He just here to cause division, insular to his bone! Licks butt also.😂
@tc1
Greaves have scored runs from his U19 days and could always bat. His technique was always tight unlike or socalled batsmen. Barbados always try to pigeonhole players. His batting was always there but he was just an allrounder to them. He scored a century playing for Bim until the name brands returned and he was put out to sea. Even before the leewards got him he was the leading scorer for the Emerging Team along with Da Silva. To Bim though he was just an allrounder.
Lucky back in the day Sobers wasn't looked at as just a spinner. Bunch of guys are labled all-rounders but bat better than the so-called batsmen
Bunch of blind dances couldn't see his batting talent before others did. Boucher was given a chance finally last year and he dominated the ODIs. He is 28 like Drakes but blocking them by nonperformers allows a Brooks, Chase etc. To continue to drive the WI down a hole and people talk about the lack of talent. Selectors just have no clue.
@seaegg99
Seaegg,
I know you know NAAAAF Bajans who were so blinking good that they blew peoples minds in the 70's and 80's and 90's and yet too many NEVER made it to the WI team.
We just buried George Susan Brathwaite...every top notch player who played against him said the same thing...He was a phenom....yet...they cannot explain why he remained...uncalled...
someone knows..
thats the book I want to read.
@powen001
@powen001
Saw George Brathwaite many times. The difference was the players in that time were all great players also. If they was regional integration like now him being overlooked wouldn't happen. Now though, we treat guys who are just average as being great and can't, or shouldn't be challenged. They show no improvement whatsoever (Chase, AA) yet are first choice players.
@seaegg99
Do you know that Chase is Powen's godson.
But I still have time for Chase, his form is not good with the bat, he has5 tons to his name
Openning is good. Just taking a bit of a break from the message board. He is very proud of “his boys” and finally admitted that Justin Greaves is way better than kraigg Brathwaite as I’ve been telling him forever. He still hopes that kraigg can make a comeback though.
i guess old love dies hard ![]()
TC with Chase it isn't form but regression of technique ala Jimmy Adams and same fault too. The bat is coming down around the legs and that also hinders foot movement to the back of a length ball on the stumps. Good test pacers see and exploit that. Don't know how coaches don't and then work with him for hours to un-learn that muscle memory

Roston Chase is in his 30’s.
You think he going to “unlearn muscle memory” in hours?
It’s already too late for him. It would have been too late at 25.
im not sure you’re fully aware how deeply ingrained and instinctive muscle memory is.
