... He has played his best and most significant cricket with Leewards Revo. I see a lot of Bajans running around laying claim to Justin's emergence as a quality player then why was he discarded? Darn hypocrites.

One Man's Garbage is another man's Treasure.

Let me guess, savior Sammy saved him

@googley

Before Sammy got involved, Justin played for Leewards for 3 seasons where he flourished in his new role as batting allrounder. Opened for Leewards in Super50 where he had 3 consecutive tons,, also scored centuries in R4D which earned him selections to all formats.

@voiceofreason

Nah mehson I call BS on that lol

Phil Simmons & Kieron Pollard picked him after that Tournament against Ireland as an opener in ODI and he sucked so bad during that tour Pollard literally said on the podium WI have a serious batting problem!!!

Obviously it seems Greaves is an extremely hard worker akin to Hope so hopefully he continues!!!

@voiceofreason

discarded by Barbados?

ok whatever you say

@hawk

He has no limit to his licking exploits.

@WIfan26

Greaves has never been utilised properly by Pollard n Co, Barbados and even Sammy. First of all he is a batting allrounder and should be batting in the top 6 in Tests and in ODIS he should be opening the innings! That is how the Leewards used him. Slowly but surely Sammy is coming around to this understanding.

@voiceofreason

He was, no doubt, the selectors of the regional teams, are one of the biggest downfall of WI cricket, this is why I am very sorry at the discarding of the CCC, it played an important roll

@hawk

These guys will make up stories to fit their narrative.

Greaves was up against Jason who was WI captain, Carlos and Mayers.where would he play.

@voiceofreason

You are correct. Very happy for Greaves!

In my humble opinion, unless the Josephs return and begin to click again along with Seales, and the top order continues to show the immense fragility, only then will I, note, consider Justin Greaves being shifted up above where he currently bats. Otherwise I think he's the perfect foil where he currently bats to bridge the top and lower order.

The hope is, now that Shai is producing, Campbell and another will start pulling some weight. Roston for example I am not asking a whole lot from. The odd 40s, 50s and 60s and the occasional conversion. But for him most of all to spend time at the crease for each innings to stabiize the middle.

Between Hodge and King one needs to come through if not both

Sun, Dec 7, '25 at 7:25 AM

Greaves already said why he was not in the barbados team he could not make it into the side as allrounder time and certainly not purely as a batsman at that time .

And if the leewards or windwards are so great at developing talent where are they?athanaze? Give me a break

Sun, Dec 7, '25 at 10:18 AM

@bird

You are correct.

the one comment I agree on from above is that they should try opening with Greaves in ODIs
