Everyone seems to have forgotten that little statistic! Wasnt it also in a second innings to save a match that was all but lost? Isnt it a bit funny that at 37 Roach could return to be a hero but at 35 Bravo was too old to contribute? Also Carty and Athanaze still do not have a century between the two of them in test cricket. An in forrm Bravo plus and in form Hope would probably have done wonders for our fragile batting line up. Ah well.
@PalsofMine
Why are we mentioning Bravo in our conversation when he does not even play for TNT!
The way I look at it is when Darren Bravo made his double century against NZ ,it was his 26th test match and he actually reached 2000 test runs during that innings.His batting average prior to the innings was 42.60.In other words he was a highly successful test batsman who could reasonably be expected to play such an innings.
Greaves was in his 12th test match and had a test batting average of 21.45 and 429 runs.
It is like somebody said to me that Ambrose took 7-25 with a spell of 7-1 was much greater than Shamar who took 7-68.Ambrose was already an all-time great test fast bowler while Shamar was in his second test match
@Onionman0
Big difference. Greaves has solid technique. Mayers does not. Mayers can’t do that against Australia or NZ or India or SA. I’d bet money that greaves can
@Chrissy
YESSSSSSS. If bravo was given the support and opportunities that Shani Hope was given, he’d average over 55 by now. I keep on saying that the majority of the WI’s problems are self inflicted
@voiceofreason
That Sir is an unkind and uncouth response. We all know that Bravo wasn't picked for EL when he dominated a regional tourney, we all know why and hence he walked away. Sammy's actions in NZ and after helped ruined Bravo's career. But you worship so....
@Chrissy
Bravo double century....not overlooked....but 2013....we had Kirk Edwards @50,Shiv@50, Bravo@45+...then we had Marlon Ramdin...our batting was our strength....we were struggling to take wickets....
Last 5 -6 years...we have bowling resources...but no batter @30...
So...Mayers & Greaves...
