I think he can be forgiven for having a less than good series.


He's played lots of cricket and is still learning, can't be good either with the batting performances meaning he's fielding almost every day of a test.

I agree. He was not effective in India and I think he needed a rest but was played a lot in Bangla and now in NZ. He is below par but hopefully is learning from this lean period.
