@natty_forever

Until he face good deliveries

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 12:23 AM

@Cricket_101

Saw how he got out in the second inning?

Something tells me you didn't.

BTW most get out to good deliveries...no? What about those who keeps giving theirs away???

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 5:33 AM

There was a time when Brandon King was one of the big three, Pooran, Hope and Mr King. So go figure, something is wrong in that camp. Darren Sammy got the test coach job on the back of the promise to deliver those three into the test squad which Coley seemed unable to do.

@jamcricket

Unable? The roles of coaches have changed...no?

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 7:03 AM

Brandon King scores in the last 6 test innings..

14, 0, 13, 5, 33, 22

Nothing special there... one could argue that he deserves a drop.

But lets look at the scores of 27 recently recalled #3 in the past 6 innings...

4, 0, 21, 15, 0, 35

Why are the players under 27's worshippers protection getting a free pass... but others are getting scrutinize?

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 8:06 AM

@WI_cricfan

Well he got runout and a rough LBW marginal decision in the 1st. I think he looked 10x better than Tage but admittedly aesthetics is not all. I still rather continue playing him as it gives us a right.left combi and the ability to put up quick runs when necessary and not just buy time alone.

You can at least get your facts right. Hodge has never batted at # 3 for West Indies. His runs 1 century/ 2 fifties came at 5.

Brandon King was dropped already. He was forced to be opener due to a last minute injury.

Now please tell us about Imlach the great captain of the Harpy eagles' franchise!

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 8:33 AM

@voiceofreason

Tevin Imlach earned his test spot.. through performance at the first class level. If he continues to fail at the test level then he will be rightfully dropped.

He didn't get a free pass by joining the cult and worshipping 27. Or through the right passport association... which is the only way certain players will ever play for the WI.

Now.. Hurry up and head to church... make sure you give an extra suck up to 27 today 😂

Oh and on a side note.. Imlach already got 3 FC trophies under his belt and a higher FC average than any dottie batsman... something yall will most likely never achieve 😂

@natty_forever

he got runout… what about the first inning and other at bat… what is his test avg.

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 10:29 AM

@Cricket_101

Well I am being specific. Looked good in the second until he got a certain poster commenting. Then Hodge run him out.

Man all slip when turning back.

How much test he played again? I wouldn't a pick him, needed to show me more at the R4D level.

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 12:30 PM

@Cricket_101

U Should know in Test Cricket it's not all about a breezy 50 like donkey whom scores 25 in 3 overs and head back to dough-out .. Opener have to occupy the crease for a lengthy period to wear bowlers down so the 3, 4. 5 etc can attack the bowlers,,,

Tell dat to Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Travis Head, “lil shiv” Jaiswal, etc.

The only openers in modern test cricket that play like you describe are Tage and kraigg brathwaite.

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 12:32 PM

@Prako

Nothing - Guyanese don’t get a free ride unlike others

So what exactly is Imlach getting?

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 1:59 PM

@imusic

A paid one.

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 2:23 PM

@natty_forever

Darren Sammy ain't to me clever enough to present a game plan and get them to reach it. He is charismatic yea but that don't win 5 days of tough cricket encounters.

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 2:29 PM

@natty_forever

Anthonyp is right. Imlach earned his pick through his consistent (or what passes for consistent in regional cricket in the past 10 years) performances both in front of and behind the stumps as well as captaincy.

He should have been in the captain/vice captain running. But the “king of WI cricket” had other ideas. And those ideas have been playing out since the Oz series in the Caribbean.

However, Imlach has been woeful with the bat……which is disappointing given that the primary reason for his selection to the test team (despite revisionist claims to the contrary) was because he could bat and likely surpass the batting results of the one that preceded him in the team.
