We have to develop the core. The Captain and VC have become passengers that we can no longer afford. Implement plan B.

We need to start looking out of the current crop now. The question is do we have replacements.

We may havevto bring in some young and green one and allow them to learn on the job. Definitely not ideal and sometimes can destroy careers

Chase maybe has one more series to save his place

@voiceofreason

this chat is a friends of the small islanders in WI cricket solidarity group?

Fri, Dec 12, '25 at 1:13 PM

@Jumpstart

It is very hurtful to you, to look in the mirror and see a big island idiot, looking like you, looking back at you.

@voiceofreason

Sammy is one person, in the Organization, contrary to the nonsense, being pedalled on this MB, Sammy, cannot unilaterally hire, or fire a captain. there is an organizational process.

It is human to err

it’s inhumane to subject the fans to chronic erring

@Edrich

i seriously doubt we look like alike......are you saying the west indies is one set and type of people.............then for sure you shouldn't have anything to do with west indies cricket with views as myopic as that. color, hair texture etc is not a pretext for solidarity, at least not in my book, and especially in professional sports which is results oriented. Sammy and pretty boy floyd have plummeted wi cricket to the unprecedented depths of our first true whitewash in living memory(more than two tests) and the ignominy of 27 all out. if coley or simmons had presided over that, you'd have been calling for his sacking and rightfully so. as it is, coley's last assignment was a test win in a country we had not won in in 24 years. i see the coronated cappo, chase is using the holder-type excuse that we have not won a test in nz in 30 years....which is true, but conveniently ignores the improvements we had made in that country in 2006 and 2008. 2006, not losing every game and in 2008, keeping the series a stalemate under the exceptional leadership of Christopher Henry Gayle OD. is only when bush for brains sammy took over that results in NZ went south and got even worse under the even more inept holder

@InHindsight

No this is Chase's last series as Captain. I like the dude but he does not have the mental fortitude to lead this team. He has had 3 series/ 7 matches with zero 50 scores. We can no longer carry him as a permanent fixture. He can still play in T20IS and ODIS.

I like the look of Shields, needs some more work but he has something to work with. The good thing is that we are seeing a test core with Greaves, Hope, Joseph x 2, Seales and Roach ( for another year). We now need to expand that core by bringing in other youngsters through R4D performances and scouting. Some other guys are on the fringe - like Shields, Hodge, Athanaze, Tage, Campbell, King have another opportunity to get closer to the core.

@Edrich

Agreed yes he is not the only one in charge of making that decision. He does have a major influence on that decision.

Chase can be honest with himself as well and step down.

Fri, Dec 12, '25 at 7:36 PM

@voiceofreason

You keep forgetting, chase always have a commendable performance with the ball.

Fri, Dec 12, '25 at 8:17 PM

@Edrich

the only curse in WI cricket is the dots in the eastern caribbean homes, especially the windwards who have contributed almost nothing to the cause
