@WI_cricfan

You are kidding right? He barely averages over 30 in first class cricket and at the age of 27, has recorded only two FC centuries. He scored 231 runs at an average of 28 in the 2025 regional four day tournament with a solitary half century.

For a man of his talent, his returns were shockingly poor, very disappointing. I watched him throw his wicket away with some of the worst reckless abandon I have seen in red ball cricket.

He may never become a good first class cricketer, let alone test match. I hope I am wrong but the signs are not good.

What talent? SMH.

@4REALQUICKS

And now are surprised at his performance.

@buds

He is certainly capable of much more than the low scores he has put together recently, that is the point.

Akeem Auguste excelled in List A cricket too.... well maybe in his dream... probably scored his first ton at the regional level 😂

His scores to date are amongst the best in the word in ODIs...

A simple Google search would tell you the facts.

They all have poor FC stats.

Justin Greaves is doing slightly better than his FC average when he debuted. Hope he continues to improve

@LBW375

Mayers?

@anthonyp

I believe if Athanaze can play for Windies so too Auguste over him.

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 11:10 AM

@allan

Of course he can.. he's the chosen one.

Best batsman in the region.. nevermind he's yet to score a ton at the regional level or average over 30 in any format. 😂

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 11:53 AM

Athanaze has had one good season at FC level. Auguste has had probably two good scores at CPL level. Yet still we hype

@WI_cricfan

Athanaze was dropped. Imlach should suffer the same fate as he averages 12.70 in 10 test innings. Are you serious?

He can save his career with a knock in the last Test.

Where does Imlach bats and which whom invariably is he batting with?

More importantly what is Imlach's primary role in the team?

Sun, Dec 14, '25 at 6:25 PM

@WI_cricfan

Imlach bats at 7. 12.70 averga is unacceptable even for a batsman at 7. A matter of fact one can unequivocally state that our taile begins with Imlach. Even Roach who bats at 8 has a better average than Imlach this series.

His primary role is wicketkeeper but his secondary role is as a batsman. The role of a wicketkeeper- batsman in modern day cricket has evolved to where they are expected to contribute more than just a sub 30 average.They must have a 35+ average and if they are able to transform the game with their power hitting that is a bonus.

Imlach does not fit that criteria. If you are going to make the argument that Imlach fails because the other batsmen have failed then how you explain when WI were 268/5 and needed him to bat time and he failed while Roach came in and played the role.
