Imlach the specialist keeper dropping catches?

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 10:18 AM

Very thick edge and dropped by the keeper, hit the webbing as he leaned out to his left, opportunity gone begging....shorter and floating outside off with some sideways movement, went fishing at it

Best we bring back Josh.

@voiceofreason

haha...looking for a scapegoat....the horses had already bolted......the real question is WHY and WHO made Josh persona non grata in the WI team?

And for the records...this is only the 2nd drop by Imlach in the entire series

NZ 253-0 [66.2

Devon Conway 139(206)

Tom Latham 104(193)

66.2

Anderson Phillip to Latham, no run, dropped! Would you believe it! West Indies get a rare opportunity after all this time, and the keeper has failed to hang on. Not short enough to cut, Latham nicks it off the toe-end and the keeper is late to move to his left. Gets it on the fingertips and down it goes

Every keeper drop catches. Question, up to today you staunchly defended everything Sammy did. Are you ashamed yet?

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 2:40 PM

@Brerzerk

Never will. Players picking themselves it seems.

He allowed to drop 1 or 2 its human but he cant bat at this level for sure. Looking at the guyana intercounty it was hard to see any real talent coming through. Van lange look decent but he have to concentrate on batting

Imlach the specialist keeper dropping catches?

A bit reminiscent of an alleged "all-rounder" contributing a grand total of 1 wicket and 8 runs for an entire World Cup tournament, isn't it?

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 4:50 PM

@Narper

Sammy was reluctant to play him until he realized that Hope couldn't handle the dual roles in tests. Now he gets a game and he cannot buy a run. Surely his 33+ FC average, Guyana Captaincy should count for something.

Time is ticking. Nice pitch to make runs

Oh btw Josh is another failure. 24 with the bat and a shoddier keeper. Jahmar Hamilton and Carlon Tuckett are the ones to look for.

@voiceofreason

All this while young Jewel Andrew is (idly) waiting in the wings.

You notice that I didn't say Hami because he has had his chance but made the proverbial meal of it.

Specialist fielder dropping catch

105.4

Roston Chase to Conway, 1 run, dropped! Roston Chase is not pleased one bit! A tossed up delivery around off, Conway leans ahead and is not quite to the pitch of it. He can't control the drive and it flies to short cover. Hodge is late to react. He then leaps to his right but only manages to get his fingers to it. He needed to do better than that. That should have been taken

@Drapsey

Hamilton FC record is barely better than Josh's test record.

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 8:22 PM

126.2

Jayden Seales to Mitchell, no run, agony for Seales. Finds a genuine edge, it carries nicely to second slip but down it goes! Perfect length ball, Mitchell is tentative in defence on the crease and it straightens a touch for the edge. He would've loved that wicket after being smoked down the ground for six in his previous over but not to be as Greaves shells the chance

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 8:26 PM

@Narper

The commentators from the first test, keeps saying we too deep in the slips for NZ conditions, yet no adjustment. NZ listens to the commentators it seems, as Bishop was attacked for, yet we deaf nuh RC.

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 8:44 PM

@natty_forever

bish said it....the NZ camp listens to the comMs and act as they see fit....on de other hand de quack coach says he won two WC....he knows ALL

Thu, Dec 18, '25 at 9:27 PM

@Drapsey

What chance did Hammie have??? A one test wonder?

Hamilton, then Bowen- Tuckett. Jewel will make the team as a batsman, sooner rather than later.

To be honest WI is badly in need of a proper Wicket keeperbatter.

Imlach invariably will get a bly for some time.

He has half a year to show slate in familiar home conditions next series or two.

DaSilva meantime has to score runs like peas supplant the unflattering Imlach
