I am not convinced that the current captain of the WI men's test team is capable of thinking outside the box in matches that require common sense on field decisions. This 3rd test match proves my point.
Those of us who are aware of what goes on before the start of a test will know about the pre-planned strategy. When it comes off, everyone looks good but after four hours on the field applying this pre-planned strategy and nothing is working, as captain you must take charge, think outside the box and try something different,
After four hours of doing the same thing over and over with no result, Roston Chase should have move away from the pre-planned strategy of using his established bowlers and called on either Hodge or Athanaze (3 or 4 overs each) in an effort to offset the rhythm of the NZ openers.
I am sorry but on day one of this 3rd test match, captain Roston Chase lacked basic cricket common sense on the cricket field. No imagination, no thinking outside the box, nothing.
Sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
