Kishore Shallow resign your position as CWI Pres

Mon, Dec 22, '25 at 12:37 PM

For all the misguided talk you spouted in the wake of your elevation to the post of SVG Minister of Tourism that there is no conflict between your ministerial and presidential positions the focus imho should not be about conflicting interests.

The calls for your resignation have nothing to do with a clash of professional duties but everything to do with accountability in the face of diminishing returns under your management of cricket in the region. The buck as it relates to the management of the game stops with you and no other person. No organisation will succeed if it rewards failure and your seeming reluctance to religuish the position is tantamount to lagniappe.

Kishore you cannot continue to deny that West Indies cricket has shown no real progress during your oversight of the organisation but despite the lack of strategic direction under your stewardship apparently the old boys club led by Jamaica is unwilling to upset the apple cart.

But more than this, it conveys the impression that you have the keys to the success of our cricket and that such good fortune is just around the corner. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Kishore, you hold no such blueprint and to the contrary, since 2010, when there was a discernible roadmap for the success of our cricket you are now joined to the hip of your immediate predecessor...abject failures.

We can look back at our last two test cricket series: the batting continues to struggle big time; the few individual performances are still way below international standards and the new bowlers performed as if they have never been exposed to bowling coaches.

The decision to recall Roston Chase and annoint him with the cappoship; the boards promotion of Daren Sammy as test head coach was shortsighted and your evaluation of Dren's performance and your prepaedness to continue to back him speaks volumes.and are nothing short of myopic.

We still continue to experience declining standards of cricket in the region and a worsening of your the boards financial position. Kishore what is your claim to fame in our cricket world?

At the moment when the calculus around the continuation of your presidency is backed by Jamaica, I hope the rest of the region shifts in a very fundamental way.

Kishore, forget about the politics of your decision and put the interest of West Indies cricket at the forefront of your decison making. You are no saviour of West Indies cricket. Further, you are not indispensible. Please do not cause the presidency of CWI to fall into the lap of odium and ridicule.

Great essay very well written but other than firing someone do you have any other solution on how to fix WI cricket???

@WIfan26

The solutions have been articulated many moons ago by various posters here, notably Commie.

They fall into three broad Strategic imperatives:

(i)Talent spotting and shortlisting to 30 young players and a few seniors.

(ii) Providing international coaching in a first rate academy

(iii) Providing the recruits plenty of experience at List A level.

I am appalled that Jamaica is behind Shallow staying on. I hope you are not creating mischief as this puts my association in a different light. Sad really that West Indies cricket is not their priority.
