WI player grades for NZD tour.

Brandon King

A

He was asked to consider opening at the beginning of the tour but he did not realize it would be this soon until Tage got injured in a net session. 33, 22, 63, 67 an average 45+ are good returns , only thing missing was a century. How he scored his runs was particularly impressive where he showed his class and dominated the bowling at a good S/R.

John Campbell

E

After the Indian tour where he scored a century in the last match one expected much more but he never got used to the bounce and movement. 15, 1,44,14.45.16 ave 22.50. Just not good enough.

So, VOD were there only two players on the entire West Indies team? Where are the grades and stats for the other players? I am sure that you would not want us to post them for you. 😀

Tage Chanderpaul

Only played one game where he registered 52 and 6 before his ill- timed injury. 52 off 167 balls albeit in the first innings would have contributed to the historic drawn match. However needed something more significant.

Just one decent score of 45 and three single digit scores. Was unlucky on that 45 where he looked fluent, still disappointing returns from a batsman who looks the part.

Good comeback with that 123*, but with 2 ducks and a 35, we would have wanted to see more. Must say that the 2innings duck was quite unfortunate as it was a special piece of fielding that got him. Another one who looks the part just lacks consistency.

Shai Hope

Scored 56, 140, 47, 5, 4,3. The first two scores came in that now famous draw . The last two scores came when he was battling a tough food poisoning illness and had to bat at 9 in of the innings. A brave effort from the consummate Pro. One could only wonder what would have been the case if he could have batted at 4 in the 1st of the last test.

Justin Greaves

A

Greaves' coming out tour? 56.60 average with the bat bolstered by the monumental 202* which saved the game for WI. Looked good for his 43 as well. His bowling was decent taking 5 wickets albeit at a high ave 48.80 but with WI a bowler short in the last game that was expected.
