Are they only catering for the caribbean audience… 🤔 Windies matches aren’t shown in the US.
Why Willow broadcast every team except the WI
@Cricket_101
Would you want to watch that “batting display” in the 4th innings of the last test against New Zealand?
Thank GOD they spared the cricket watching world th trauma of witnessing that ![]()
@imusic
It depends on marketability and who then is your contracted broadcaster. The match is indeed on ESPN plus. I watched both games back n forth Ashes and WI/NZ
@Brerzerk
So did I.
That last day was painful cricket though. Not just because of the result.
@Cricket_101
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
CWI has a six year deal with ESPN Caribbean meaning games played in the WI will be shown on that platform!!!
New Zealand has a similar deal meaning any home game for them are played on ESPN!!!
CPL is a different entity but some years had a deal with ESPN as well one might argue ESPN is a bigger and better brand than Willow!!!
@Cricket_101
Windies and NZ matches are usually on EZPN+(plus).
Its a SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE ($12/mth.) that includes other PPV sports like tennis.
@Cricket_101
ESPN is the official broadcast network of WI games wheen they are playing at home and when they play overseas, In the US.
Willow had thr US market till two years ago when thay deal was signed.
The games stream on Disney plus of which ESPN is part of the Disney network.
I wished if they were more easily accessible but nopes.
Just like TNT Sports in the UK shows all of WI games, well a majority once they are playing test national. Its just how broadcasting work.
Rush sports here in the Caribbean carry WI overseas tours, while ESPN carry their home games.
@Cricket_101
Cuz Dey need to make a profit. Nobody wants to watch the WI right now. Except VOT
@FineBajanMan
Already got sports package with my provider, not paying more to watch a dismal team…. if and when they get better probably will…
If you got disney+ you usually get ESPN as part of the deal...
For cricket
- Waste Indies home matches & Super50
- MLC
- they had the WTC final as well
Other sports
- NBA
- Football,
- F1 & motogp,
- tennis
And de list goes on... here in Guyana I am paying like 120 USD for the year.
