@tc1
I am serious. Big rumors in one of my wassapp chat groups.
From a usually reliable source.
@TanteMerle
Rumors is that the Jason Holder had a quiet word with him.
Well that explains it then.
Ah mean……if Jason Holder had a quiet word, who can resist? ![]()
@TanteMerle
I expected him to follow de Kock
If anyone can convince him to play it would be Pouty.
I would like him to play.
@Narper
Despite the negative talks here from some,
Windies is a better team with Pooran than without.
I will like to see both Pooran and Hetty in the team.
Hetty is one of our best fielders/catchers.
Two or three good innings by Pooran and Hetty will go a long way to winning the tournament.
Imagine a firing Rutherford, Powell, Hope, Pooran and Hetty
All we need is good bowling by Holder, Shepherd, Seales, Ford, Hosein, and Joseph(s).
This is a team that can compete with the best.
Hope can open the batting, while Pooran takes #3 spot and the gloves.
@imusic
Jason Holder must be code for Indian Bookies that’s the only thing that would change his mind 🙃
Jokes aside I hope this is true it would definitely be a bonus for our WC squad!!!
Sammy is a stubborn Man. I tell him don't go back to that Primadonna. Probably the reason for the delay in naming a squad. Sammy always feels he could change someone' mind.
Oh well.
Delay is to get confirmation on Shamar J according to some podcast. Like any organization if an employee walks out on you why would you beg him to come back? He would have to ask back in, but then what about the guy whose place he would take. One who has been true to the badge.
@Scar
One of the biggest setbacks for us is out mentality.
Bob said it best when he penned,
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
I remember when teams sent 'rebels' on South Africa tours
The Hinglish Teams dish out 3 years bans
The West Indians teams dish out a life ban.
Players retire and come back.
The teams welcome them with open arms.
What is our mentality when our players do this?
Forget them, they are scams, they are primadonnas
Even some here who left their home for another country to chase big bucks, criticize them.
Oh yeah, that is to earn a better living for them and their families.
Boy some of us really need to take a real mental check.
Please go listen to Bob Marley's Redemption Song.
Welcome back Pooran!
@voiceof reason
It’s not about Sammy or Pooran
It is what is best for the game of cricket
Something bigger that anyone’s individual interest
I like the point about the South African rebel tours. It would be interesting to reflect on the barriers those players broke and how that paved the way for future generations. Without those moments, we may not have seen the rise of players like Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock, Amla, Ntini, or Rabada.
Sometimes progress comes from uncomfortable decisions, but history often shows their broader value to the game.
Don't think this is true... Pooran ain't returning once that free loader is there.
Hety will not make the squad either...
As for the Joseph’s... at this point only Alzarri stand a chance of making the squad. Don't see Shamar recovering in time, hopefully they don't force him and make the injury worst!
