SHAMAR HAS to come in an OUT goes...

Fri, Jan 30, '26 at 6:27 AM

SHEPHERD who patently cannot bowl an who is unlikely to bowl his full quota against any opposition....some of yawl goin seh it weakens the batting but if the batsmen an all rounders cannot get the job done it's unlikely an extra cowswiper will make a difference as a matter of fact he more likely to concede more from his bowling than he makes with the bat...reuniting Shamar with Jayden will hopefully help Jayden raise his game ....this brings into focus the folly of selecting Samson along for the ride instead another bowling option!

@CCW

i've said this numerous times. shepherd was the difference between tkr and GAW in the cpl final last year. only pollard didn't struggle. everyone else did but he bowled many extras in addition to getting caned. you could sense the trepidation from tkr when shamar came on. they couldn't play on the back foot because he's short and skiddy....and they couldn't go forward because he is short and skiddy

Shepherd will be more effective on the Asian pitches that are usually lower and slower than the South African pitches, however his bowling is iffy most times, he like Forde are most effective when the ball is swinging. However, Sammy's decision to leave out Springer might turn out to be a mistake, Springer's bowling seems to be more consistent than Forde and Shepherd.

@dayne

I think that Springer is definitely a more reliable bowler than Shepherd and also to date a much better death bowler

@dayne

providence is virtually a subcontinental pitch...low, slow, great deal of turn but offering purchase once you bend your back....it didn't work out so well. he struggled even when the conditions suited him

The guy who did not make the cut is always the saviour ... what's new???

Fri, Jan 30, '26 at 9:28 AM

@Kay

kieron pollard, chris gayle and dwayne bravo, the best players in the WI didn't make the cut for years under bird brain holder and egomaniacal bird brain sammy...........nothing good resulted from it. selection in the wi always has to be scrutinized because it is/has been many times influenced by spite or/and incompetence

@Kay

I understand ur sentiment...but who did not make the cut??.....you disagree with the original post??

@voiceofreason

dead rubber or not dis is not park cricket where everybody has to get game but i understand the point ...i think the bowlers esp need all the practice they can get before the big show!....but would definitely leave out Shepherd cos dnt think he merits a place on the team!

@voiceofreason

Sheppy can stay as a batter!!!!
