I really must say its the best I've seen Hetty play in years. And as you say maybe he's comfortable and the batting position too is much better for him. Never doubted his ability in the field cause man could filed. Glad he's showing up with the bat. Hoping his fint form continues and imagine that going over to Teat and ODI

Y'all really think Hetmeyer could bat for even one session of a Test Match? Especially against the likes of Rabada, Bumrah, Jensen, Stark, et al.

The ability to play 8 overs of lickit cricket is there.

Test Match cricket against high quality bowlers on pitches which aren't roads is another kettle of fish.

agreed but not impossible if yuh have the ability an mentality to adjust ....in recent times David Warner started his career in t20's to become an all format great wouldn't seh he was more naturally gifted than we bai but obviously had the mental strength to adjust to the rigours of test cricket...only time will tell assuming as reported that he (Hety)does want to play test cricket!

Two things for me.

One, he has stopped behaving in the childish,impish manner he was known for.

Two, I think this is the fittest he has been since his breakthrough years.

Well he has impressed so far but the real test will come in the next Month. Also he needs to play some 4 day cricket to make his way back into the Test team.

no other batsman in the WI can anyway. so no loss. What is amazing is how poor Jangoo is totally written out of people's thinking. The man scored a century on international debut and then people like Athanaze and Auguste have just by passed him in WI thinking. I would certainly consider Jangoo before Hodge in that middle order as Hodge lacks consistency. One good score per series and then several single digit scores. That is why both he and Greaves (who is from the same mould) can't get their averages above the 20s, the latter being even more culpable as he has two not out centuries to his name.

Just was looking at a podcast where they pointed out that Hetty official ICC photo is not shown. So is he in India or not?
