55-ball hundred in a WC final - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi removes the helmet, closes his eyes in a prayer, removes the gloves and then offers a warm applause towards the dressing room. It's a room filled with beaming people - what an innings and what an innings to play on the big day - he's looked in total control and has left England searching for prayers at the moment - stabbed a wide ball to the left of cover-point and calls his partner across for a quick single

Fri, Feb 6, '26 at 4:19 AM

SIXhammered, banged in short and into the pitch - was very high, but so does Vaibhav as he flat-batted it back over the bower's head, went very high and well into the stands at long-on

FOURdrilled, very full and just outside off - Vaibhav gets under it and then swings it back over the bowler's head, couple of bounces and over the ropes

SIX, he's putting on a show here - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - Albert goes wide off the crease and then looks to push it wider of off, but Vaibhav is in such mood that he leans across and smotes it back over the bowler's head, this one goes all the way for his 11th six

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the first batter to register four 50-plus scores at over run-a-ball U19 World Cup history.

SIX, this is a stunning blow, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi brings up his 150 with his 13th six, was a good length delivery into the pitch and Vaibhav didn't seem to have struck it well, but he's through with the shot and the fielder at long-on can only watch it go by

The most dominating knock in the history of U19 World Cup comes to an end. Most of the England players walk across to shake hands as Sooryavanshi walks off. What a knock! He does not even look disappointed on missing out on a double century. He walks off to a standing ovation and he acknowledges it with a bat raise. Lumsden goes round the wicket, angles it in and takes pace off, Sooryavanshi sits down to play the lap but the ball does not come on, hits his glove and lobs behind for Thomas Rew to take a dolly. England needed that because at the rate Sooryavanshi was going, even 500 seemed possible. This breakthrough will give them some time to breathe, regroup and pull things back. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi c Thomas Rew b Manny Lumsden 175(80) [4s-15 6s-15]
