QPCC 1 lose first innings battle to PowerGen
Joshua Da Silva batted to the end for a century. But not even that was enough to prevent PowerGen Penal Sports grabbing first innings points as the third round in the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board’s National League Premiership One two-day competition concluded yesterday.
In a round where no team managed an outright victory, early front-runners Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC 1) were pegged back by PowerGen, who won a day-long battle for first innings points at their ground in Syne Village, Penal. That was despite the concerted effort of Da Silva, who struck the only ton of the weekend, and his teammate Jyd Goolie.
