Carnival fete ends in horror: Woman gang raped by 3

A 26-year-old woman was sexually assaulted following a Carnival fete in Chaguaramas on Sunday.The victim attended the Miami Beach party held at O2 Park, Chaguaramas on Sunday.After the event, she left the venue with three men, who reportedly took her the Double Palm Hotel on Rambhaju Street, Aranguez, where she was gang raped.

The woman was later found on the eastbound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Aranguez overpass. She was wearing a red short-sleeved T-shirt with black netted sleeves and an adult diaper when officers arrived.A passerby assisted her in seeking medical attention at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where she was described as incoherent and in and out of consciousness.

Side-hustling police constable robbed, beaten in Toco

A Police Constable was robbed and beaten while conducting a clothing sale in broad daylight on Sunday morning in Galera Park, Toco.

The victim, a 32-year-old officer attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch, had gone to the area to sell two black jerseys printed with “Scarface” and two pairs of blue jeans valued at $1,600. Around 10:30 a.m., he was confronted by two men , one wearing a red and grey hooded jersey, slim-built and unmasked, approximately five feet tall, and the other wearing a dark grey jersey with a black balaclava, stocky and armed with a cutlass.

There was a struggle and the officer was struck in the face and sustained a cut to his right middle finger. The suspects made off with $3,000 in cash, $1,600 in clothing, $150 US, and an additional $400 from the victim’s wallet. They escaped through nearby bushes.The constable reported the incident at the Toco Police Station, where officers launched a search in the vicinity. Despite their efforts. The officer was offered medical attention but declined.

Teen knifed to death during St James Jouvert

A teenage boy who was stabbed in St. James early Friday morning has been identified as Jayden Rouff.

Reports indicate that the teen was found bleeding on the pavement. Before he was placed into the tray of a police pickup truck, a woman recorded a video showing him seriously injured. The woman later accompanied Rouff to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In a separate incident, two men were shot and injured on Ariapita Avenue. Details surrounding that shooting were not immediately available. Meanwhile, TTPS Gold Commander for Carnival 2026 and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Suzette Martin said police are fully prepared to deal with any emergency or criminal incident during the Carnival.

Venezuelan, 19, chopped to death

A 19-year-old Venezuelan male was chopped to death early yesterday morning.He has been identified as Jesus Carlos Sivedre, of 43 A Harmony Hall, Gasparillo.

According to police, Sivedre was at a bar on Leotaud Street in San Fernando with his brother, when at around 4 a.m., he got into an altercation with three Trinidadian men allegedly over women of Venezuelan nationality. The men—two of whom were described to be of Indian origin, both slim built, one with long hair and the other with short hair, and the third described as of African descent—followed Sivedre and his brother. Sivedre, jumped a wall, to escape the men. The three men were then seen entering the premises and later leaving the scene in a silver Nissan wagon.

Yesterday, at around 5.30 a.m., police responded to a report of a fight at the corner of Rigsby and Imrie streets in San Fernando.When police arrived at the location, they were told that the resident was awakened by the sounds of fighting and broken bottles around 4.45 a.m.Upon investigating, the homeowner discovered Sivedre’s body clad in his underwear in a pool of blood. There were multiple chop wounds to both legs, both hands, and the abdomen.There were several broken glass bottles at the scene and blood on the roadway and the gate.

......................Party vibes cut short: Valuables stolen out of SUV

A night of revelry turned sour for two partygoers when they discovered their valuables stolen after attending the Miami Beach party at O2Park, Chaguaramas.The incident occurred in Carenage, where the first victim, a woman, had parked a Hyundai Tucson, on the eastern side of the roadway near the Military Museum around 4:48 a.m. Upon returning at approximately 8:30 a.m., they found the left rear door glass of the vehicle smashed.

Both victims are students.

Among the stolen items were a brown Coach wristlet containing a 10-gram gold chain valued at $2,800 and $500 in cash, as well as a black Michael Kors purse containing a debit card and a store card. A second victim, a man, also discovered a pink Coach wristlet with $1,000 missing from the centre console.
