I think it is time to empty the bench and give some players an opportunity to show what they have just in case of injury to key players.

Italy is not a jokey team. Play the players who will likely figure in the super 8 so they they could be good and ready. King for example, still needs to solidify his opening spot.

Agreed, it would be the sensible thing to do. That "Italian team" is made up of decent players from established cricketing nations, just like the USA, neither should be taken for granted by testing bench strength

Yes we already know who we are playing and where. All of our games will be in India which is the only real advantage of finishing top of the table. Really ridiculous that we have to play both winners of the two groups.

I agree they are not to be underestimated but what if a player picks up an injury in this game? I see no reason why that team cannot beat Italy. I mean it is basically our bowling attack less Shamar and Holder. Hetmeyer is still there and he has been in excellent form. Rovman needs some runs.

The players rested have already solidified their spaces. Sure if JC hits a ton, then King's position will be under question, especially if he fails.

The sensible thing to do is, rest the marquee players to eliminate the possibility of injuries!!That is the common sense thing to do in a meaningless match!

People talking about Italy's showing vs England but what I would say England has under-performed as they got scares vs all the Associates teams: Nepal, Scotland and Italy.

I see no sense in risking players in a meaningless dead rubber especially with the business end of the tournament 4 days later. Then the games come fast and furious with three games in a week at different locations.

I'm in total agreement but can see the other side aswell....i can possibly only see Seales for Shamar but Shamar hasn't been great an needs the work to sharpen up ....our bowling esp.needs all the game time possible if we going to be competitive in the super8's ...as fuh the batting why would you want to rest players an possibly make them lose form from not having played fuh how many days?....but its no win situation if ppl get injured the reaction would be they should have never played in a dead rubber ...on the other hand if yuh rest dem an they fail in the 1st match of the super8's ppl will say will lacked match practice ...on balance i would play my best team!
