Anybody who thinks or says different are either disingenuous or ignorant as despite no Bangladesh many thought we would struggle to get out of the group stage. All games were comprehensive victories vs teams ( except Italy )that we have lost to in the past, even at the WC level ( See Scotland in ODI Worldcup). Anything from here is bonus.

However we need to fix that PP. Sammy needs to understand that Roston Chase should never be allowed to bat in the PP with 2 wickets down. 24 off 25 is a game killer., fortunately this was Italy. Brandon King is an issue but we have no choice but to persist with him at this stage. I really am in support of opening with Motie to capitaliSe on the PP as clearly we have a lot of firepower at the back end.

@voiceofreason

This match against Italy is a perfect rehearsal of how to lose a game in the Super 8.

How go you rate Sammy's coaching?

@voiceofreason

WI did what they had to. Get the job done. It highlights what good decision making and proper planning will achieve especially with these associates, with nothing to lose.

Individually these Italian players have played in some good leagues and rightly not view as minnows

Biggup Sammy fuh not "emptying the bench" which is wuh a lot of yawl wanted i understand the sentiment behind that but didn't agree with it....moving on i dnt agree "anything from here is a bonus " strictly speaking since we are higher ranked than Zim we are expected to beat them ...maybe not so SA an India but i remain hopeful esp against SA!

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 6:15 AM

@CCW

I expect us to win all. The guys should expect to do that too. And if we drip short even against India then.

Watching some clips against India I realise they too aint as solid as even SA in terms of their batting at the top

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 6:17 AM

@positiveg

more worried about their spinners against us!

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 6:22 AM

@CCW

Very true.

It will show if we learn and have grown throughout the tourney. I guess from Zim to SA to I dia we should have time to grow against the apin threat that has been our Achilles heel for a long time.

But I am confident them man will come good.

@positiveg

things dropping nice fuh us ....Zim is the ideal 1st super8 match with SA to follow an India last ..couldn't want it any better!

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 8:07 AM

Sammy is validating his process

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 8:15 AM

@voiceofreason

winningbtge group is a great start

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 8:21 AM

Coming this far, they need to win the trophy...expectations change with success

That powerplay could be their downfall though

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 9:11 AM

@ray

powerplay is a big problem...haven't checked the stats but Windies was probably amongst the worse duringthe group stage...King seems to be out of touch an that puts extra pressure on Hope whose role is to anchor the inns an hopefully bat deep....might have to juggle with the batting order...maybe Powell or tek a chance with Forde ...need the very least 50+ in PP!!

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 9:48 AM

@CCW

Hopeful against SA? We have a 1-4 record Vs SA in T20 World Cups, they seem to have our ticket.

Conversely, we are 3-1 Vs India

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 10:14 AM

@DIEHARD

that doesn't count for a lot.. yes they (SA) will start as favs but i think it's good match up fuh us ...might hinge on the toss as dem an us like chasing!

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 10:39 AM

@voiceofreason

Voicy....you have enthusiasm

But Playing against India and SA ...trouble looms ahead
